Thanks. I'd heard of the weed issue, some "not coachable" claims, etc. So far, he's the best thing about this Rocket's season.
He was in China already last season after being waived by Memphis because I think he wanted a better payday, played for Yao....then got called back by Miami around after the 2015 trade deadline with Bosh going down and signed him to a 2 yr min deal with a TO for the 2nd yr (exactly how his HOU deal is right now) Heat were loaded up already though and signed Amar'e/Green in the off-season which basically put an end to him for good and they decided not to pick up the TO. No team expressed interest in him as a FA during the off-season yet again. So he went back to China, signed w/ Shandong then despite seeing Bosh go down again, MIA didn't bring him back and got Joe Johnson anyways and were limited due to the tax. The rest you know what happened.
I'm just glad we got him he plays well with harden and has been our 2nd best player for a few games now. Glad we got him on a team option for next year because he's a great value contract heading into next season with hopefully a whole new team around him and JH.
I was curious to the actual stats so I looked it up. These stats are for first ~250minutes of these player's career with the Rockets. Beasley - 168 pts in 257 min (0.653 pts/min) Dream - 159 pts in 257 min (0.618 pts/min) Francis - 121 pts in 254 min (0.476 pts/min) Harden - 171 pts in 278 min (0.651 pts/min) TMac - 139 pts in 273 min (0.509 pts/min) Yao - 121 pts in 251 min (0.482 pts/min) Sampson - 170 pts in 275min (0.618 pts/min) Clyde - 190 pts in 281 min (0.676 pts/min) Beasley is in some seriously elite company.
....is meant to entice KD. I get mixed signals of the friendship KD and Beasley have. But Beas is the ideal sixth man, just like James Harden used to be. If Harden is willing to play Beta male while Beasley is just willing to show he can still ball, we're the favorite to win in at all next year. Too optimistic?
Yeah, that's impressive. But Morey seems to love cherry picking stats to make a point. Why 250 minutes? Why not 200? 100? 300? 500?
some of the moves beasley makes (that reverse layup the other night) are all-nba class. Dudes needs to get 30 min a night.
Cool stats for a stat lover. Remember when Lin was listed with the like of MJ and Magic for greatest first few games "starter" performance... yea, it's pretty meaningless.
