Beastley can average 25+ ppg if he started for our team and Harden comes off bench.

I've always said we need to surround harden with some real *****s like Beasley. That's why harden/Beasley/easymoneysniper are about to be a dynasty

    I'll take 12 and 5 on decent %'s lol

I agree with a previous posters suspicion that there is a good possibility that he falls off a cliff like Smith/Jones any game now, but his hot streak is nice while its lasting, and hopefully he actually will consistently play well enough to help this team, even if that is just being a spark plug 10 ppg scorer off the bench.

Great move by Morey locking Beasley up on a vet min contract for next season, Beasley and Harrell as PF depth for only 2.5 mill is awesome, and will give us some much appreciated #flexibility for free agency this summer.

needed to get his head on straight. Maybe he's finally learned to only smoke weed in the comfort of his own home nowadays also

It worked last year when Dmo/Smith was in the lineup and Howard was injured...they were ballin so Beasley appears to be an upgrade from Smith so far

His game isn't any different... He hasn't really even changed his skill set. He is "clean" (we will see for how long) and somewhat humbled.

People forget that he played one season of college basketball and averaged something like 24/12 and was considered the best player in his class and the favorite to go first in the draft for most of his freshman year.

I am skeptical he will avoid temptation. Nothing against him, but most people do not exorcise their demons.

Yes, people forgot he was a top talent coming off draft. Someone who could score 25-27 pts consistently.

Potentially, he never lived up to that but he did not just lose his ability to score.

    So no real surprise there.

I would not be surprised if he continues to score 16-18 ppg consistently, even in limited minutes.

Beasley is the best left handed player on the Rockets.

It goes Beasley, D-Mo, Smoove, and then Harden.

If he accepts his role as a rebounder and a big man, he's dangerously good. He reminds me of Harden in OKC. Comes off the bench and consistently puts up buckets. If he'd been with us the whole year he'd probably be a prospect for 6th man. That's if he didn't start. Love his game, a bigger more althletic Melo...

I haven't seen anyone say anything about building around Beasley.

It is very understandable that people are getting excited about him though. Since being seriously inserted into the rotation (starting at the Boston game) he has averaged about 18 PPG and 7 RPG in about 22 minutes of play. Thats pretty damn productive.

Add to the fact that he is a former number 2 pick in the draft and there is no question that he has always had talent. The question is why hasn't he been able to do anything with it? Maturity is the most obvious answer but if it took him to the age of 27 to figure it out then so much the better for the Rockets.

It's way way too early to start thinking that he is ever going to be an all-star player or anything more than a good rotation player that could provide a spark off of the bench. But its not too early to get excited about what we have seen from him up to this point. If he continues to play at the level he has played at since coming to the Rockets then he is an exciting addition to the Rockets.

How great would a rotation of Al Horford, DMo, Capella and Beasley be next season? Thats three legit offensive scoring options. Three post players that can get off their own shot and do it with a high degree of efficiency.

Since we are stating, doesn't he have the worst +/- on the team?

These numbers would be more meaningful if he didn't have a plus/minus of -7.3. I mean, that's pretty bad. I can only hope that's a sign of not being familiar yet with our defensive schemes than not having defensive instincts. There's a reason no other NBA team signed him beyond the vet minimum, and I'm hoping this wasn't one of the primary ones, otherwise expect scores like 114-110 for the rest of the season.
