Repeat it enough times and 1 + 1 can pass off as 3.

This thread rules! I think Trader Jorge is one of the funniest characters working in comedy today. Behind that persona lurks one of the cleverest and most darkly humorous minds ever. This is Andy Kaufman territory. I think the key to this act, besides calling yourself "The Conquistator," (God, being so self-referential after the age of 12 is so clever and ironic! He's like the Miz) is continuing the bit long after your "arguments" have been reduced to rubble and then breaking off SOMETHING THAT IS CAPITALIZED TO INDICATE THAT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS SIGNIFICANT AND IRREFUTABLE. Classic! And proclaiming to OWN somebody..I am weak with laughter. I like how you developed the character to be a grown man in 40's starting threads about his dining plans and making up a fake dispute with Rocketman95. He and Batman Jones *must* be in on the joke. Anyway, keep up the brilliant work. A little request: could you maybe combine the liberals-love-terrorism angle with a sports take..maybe something about Vince Young and John Kerry? Keep up the great work, man!

Somewhere out there, Benjamin Franklin is vomiting in his grave. ;)

If it is so easy to get a warrant, why should the government ignore even this very basic procedure? Could it be that the NSA is doing stuff that is so overbroad that it won't even pass the rubber stamping scrutiny of the FISA court?

Unless you believe FISA itself is infiltrated with terrorist spies, there is really no reason for the government to bypass this already weak safeguard.

So basically, the government can now conduct spying on anyone without giving a reason for it.

Before you call me a liberal nut, I will grant you this: I do not believe Bush is Hitler and I think he genuinely believes he is doing what is best for the country.

However, Bush is not personally involved in every case of spying. While he has good intentions, who knows what his underlings will do?

After FEMA-gate, Rove-gate, and torturegate, I'm having seriously doubts about the kind of people working for our president. And what assurances do we have that this domestic spying appratus will be removed once Bush leaves office?

Bush is not a facist, but he sure is creating a good foundation for a facist regime.

    are you still denying it?

GWB said spying requires a court order.. then he authorizes spying without court order.. so he's lying right?

Too bad he wasn't lying about something serious like a blowjob. Then he might be impeached.
