come on man i think lebron is the best player in the league and I know he has had some of the greatest playoff performances of all time, but you gotta admit he quit against boston. He will not quit this year thought so the haters will be silenced
i dont' think people understand that. you can really only judge effort on the defensive end. if you're going to quit, paul pierce would have lit yo ass up every game.
See this here is my problem with all the "LeQuit" bashers: they put Lebron on some kind of standard they themselves can't adhere to. Everybody quits at some point in time. Didn't Kobe Bryant also quit in that playoffs series against PHX? How about MJ, didn't he quit b-ball altogether to play baseball? In Lebron's case, his quitting might be because: 1) He found out West was banging his mom and the whole team kept it from him 2) He already had a triple double and they were still getting their ass handed to them. Lebron's a smart kid. He probably thought there was no point in giving more effort when there was no way they were going to win the championship as presently constructed. If Shaq/Jamison can't even handle old KG, how can they handle Gasol/Bynum/Odom? Couple that with fatigue from guarding Pierce all game long and you'll probably see why Lebron didn't have any energy left.
Have any stories surfaced from people sitting courtside who probably heard what LeBron was saying to the Cavs bench? I've often heard that people sitting that close can heard everything being said. I'd be interested to hear what was being said.
I would agree that his head didn't seem to be completely in the game, but as others have pointed out, you don't keep playing all-world defense if you've quit on your team already.
BSPN try so hard to protect this guy it's getting pathetic. I don't know why there's no talks to LeBron about this. He hasn't really come out to deny it or anything, so it seems like its true. Where there's smoke, there's fire right? Not sure why BSPN hides from this when it okay to tear apart Tiger and Kobe on things of this nature. Not quite the same, but in the same ball-park. But face it, this guy brought espn so much revenue in the DECISION. They are in bed together. That and Nike gave them some hush money just like how they took the guy video off the web when lebron got dunk on. I mean is this guy selling his nike appareals crazy like jordan? I haven't seen one person wearing LBJ shoes, when there's younger generations til this day who would love to have a pair of jordans. <object width="384" height="216" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="ESPN_VIDEO" data="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all"><param name="movie" value="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="wmode" value="opaque"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"/><param name="flashVars" value="id=5879168"/></object>
Props to TNT -- this was a CLASSIC intro: <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/arSL0jY_8Ao?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/arSL0jY_8Ao?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Yeah, definitely the best pre-game piece I've seen since the late-90's. The back and forth jawing between LeBron and the Cleveland bench was also entertaining: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AmCmHGZxVsw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AmCmHGZxVsw?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
LeBron like it or not is pretty much the co-face of the NBA (for lack of better words). When you think the current NBA you think either one of two things: Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. When you think of basketball history, you think of Michael Jordan, Kareem, Hakeem, Magic, Bird, etc. The question is not how popular someone is, but is that one player going to be able to leave a legacy and eventually be held in high regard as one of those Jordans, Hakeems, or Magics?
