Miami cops caught using photos of black teens for shooting practice

Oh please. Just another person sick of the overly sensitive butthurt activists making a bigger deal over things than need be.

According to the article, they use similar ethnic groups. So, logically, yes they do use other groups. Though I'll pose the question to you: how did she not know they were black until she saw here brother?

You've said this several times and I'm still not sure what you're getting at. The person that first discovered this took notice that her brother was on the target, and not that the targets happened to be black men. Is that what you are getting at? If so, what is the point? I think the "outrage" is more coming from others that are reading this story, so what "she" was first disturbed by is kind of irrelevant.

 

I haven't read any other articles about the story, but the article posted seems to be about a lady who was shooting at targets and then noticed her brother was one of the targets. It somehow seems to have been skewed into a story about officers shooting at targets of black teens.

The so what point seems to be that white officers shot at white targets, black officers shot at black targets, so forth and so forth. Are there any follow up articles to this event?

Likewise hispanic cops use photos of hispanics

White cops use photos of white

What about Asian cops?

I was curious so I looked it up. They were called "No More Hesitation" targets. Looks like they were discontinued about a year ago.

The facial recognition part, I assume, refers to training to look at actual faces to counter the known difficulty of recognizing individuals of a different ethnic groups. So, maybe the cops look to recognize a specific black teen instead of pulling the trigger on any black teen. But, it still seems dehumanizing and desensitizing to have them shoot pictures of real people. I'd prefer they do facial recognition exercises without a gun and shoot at abstract figures at the range.

 

The article doesn't state that she is not a cop.
