But there isn't anything wrong institutionally with the police right? And we should always take their word over that of the people they victimize (assuming said victims are still alive)?

 

I think we should wait for all the facts to come out first.

 

This should never have happen using real faces any department that would use such targets should be question by the justice department.

This is no different than sex offenders using photos of white teens for "shooting" practice. I'd rather the cops get off to photos, than the real thing.

 

Maybe they were just so pure of heart that they thought race doesn't matter?

 

This was found out by accident, so the sample size is 1 out of 1. Based on the actions of cops all over this country, I would bet if you increased the sample size that you would see this is quite common -- but since cops are so above the law and beyond the scrutiny of the general population, these kinds of things are not discovered very often.

I applaud the comparison of cops to abusive scumbags who prey on those with less power than them (like sex offenders) -- if only the community would run cops out of all the towns like they often do to sex offenders.

However, a governmental department, which is responsible for upholding the law and training law enforcement officers, doing something like this is very different than an individual doing so. It is more like if Child Protective Services had employees who desired to sexually abused children, and so they were encouraging said employees to watch child p*rn.
