I'll be glad to. I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with either him or Springer in a close game, so expect me to be posting that every single time.
whatever interpretation of the rule says that wasn't a catch is a bad interpretation, because that was a catch. but i'll take it. and barely beats the throw. biggio living dangerously.
Piazza looks like he's gonna cry.... he couldn't throw out a batter even if he was standing at the pitcher's mound.
I was sitting at the computer with my back to the tv when Biggio hit it. I heard Brownie say Cameron settling under it and I thought, boy it would be nice if he dropped it. Edit: This umpiring crew is pretty poor. The guy behind the plate has called several pitches balls and then called a pitch even further out a strike. And he has done this for both teams. He has been brutal for everyone back there.
Could Bruntlett catch lightning in a bottle twice??? (damn... this is where it hurts to start Lamb and Palmeiro).
Hats off to Pedro... man, compared to what he and Clemens had to face in the AL for all those years (namely, the Red Sox and Yankees' lineups), pitching in the NL is like pure vacation for them both.
