Seriously, he's just a poster that gave us inside info. Personally, I don't care about getting inside info because most of it never works out anyway. If it does work out, then I'll find out sooner or later. OP actually has some pretty cool non-"inside info" type posts, but seriously he's not immune to being questioned. Are there any other posters that other members are not allowed to question? Can we have a list of untouchables? I'd hate to bruise their precious egos... And calling the people that question OP "idiots" is pretty lame as well. I thought some of the disagreements with OP were well-thought out...
You guys obviously care more than you let on. Otherwise you wouldn't have posted how indifferent you were in OP's last thread, and wouldn't have posted the exact same comments here. It's not about bending over backwards for the guy or kissing ass. Bottom line, pops worked to find out some inside info, and post it to the board. Being that this is a Rocket Fan Board, hr was obviously making a contribution that was enjoyed by many. Yes, there are still starving children out there, but the primary purpose of this little BBS is talking about the Rockets. In lieu of (god forbid) expressing any appreciation, a few posters thought it would be better to tear down the rumor instead. Histrionics aside, popeye was a valued member of the BBS who will be missed, should he never come back. You can just look at the number of views and replies his threads got to realize that much.

The truth is......Only 4 or 5 posters on this entire BBS have any real expertise or NEW information. The greatest number of posts are just supposition, opionions and other forms of mental masterbation. Not that that that's a bad thing, masterbation can be fun, but, I as a fan of the Rockets and the NBA, appreciate the kernals of real insight and OP had more of them than anybody else. ooo, that was good.
Could someone help me out on what the "big scoop" was, as well as what some of these "2nd tier" scoops have been? Maybe I'm not reading carefully. Also, did any inside source on the BBS post about the Rice trade before the national media? Can't remember that either.
That was actually Clutch. I don't know about the first tier or second tier stuff that DH is talking about. I suspect he meant the Francis trade (rf34 too, right?). oeilpere also predicted the NJ link this past draft period. 'Tis a pity oeilpere's bipolar disorder kicked in at just the wrong time.
So I had a tirade over what I thought was a several week history of deplorable posts. Big F***ing Deal! I asked Clutch to close the last thread because everyone missed the point. ….. it never was about my insights or mythoughts not being appreciated by everyone … it was about the merits of ideas, insights, postings and personal takes of anyonenot being appreciated. It was not about who agrees with me and who does not. Frankly, I don’t give a rat’s ass who believes me and who doesn’t. Don’t mind at all. Just don’t insult my intelligence or others’ intelligence with all that verbal masturbation. Go to the La La Landers or the Nuggets or the Nets BBS’s and spin that ****. What pissed me off was the quick “no! that is not true” by some senior posters and then a blazingly limp reason to base their knee jerk response. I expected more from them. I chuckle at all the negative asswipe troll comments. I mean basically who cares? That was never an issue, believe me. They never (well, almost never) piss me off. It had absolutely nothing to do with me needing a vacation from this board. It was theattitude of the negative spun merchants in the guise of senior members. Period. Look ….. I appreciate the accolades, especially from posters I respect. I usually say thanks and go on … but, it’s not about tribute,or praise aimed at me … in fact it embarrasses me most times … But if you want to argue with me … base it on the merits of my stance, or about the logistics of a speculative comment … but back up your debate with something substantial ….. some premise based on forethought …. not just a negative comment for the sake of indifference. No,I don’t seek a “handjob” or a “greased ego” as some less than eloquent typical northeastern knobgobber suggested. I just want readers of my threads to at least read the damn thing, try to understand what is being posted and then offer their take. Not scan half a sentence, decide they know better and start spouting BS rebuttal without digesting the post. Hell, that goes for anyone’s post, not just mine. PS: I don’t see myself as humorless, petulant, manic/depressive () or egotistical . However, I will accept all of these labels if the majority of senior posters just post something other than the self-centered idiotic drivel they have been posting all summer. Yay, pops is back! It's good to see you back here. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I started coming to this site because there wasn't jacks*** about the Rockets (at least anything good) on the web. Being told inside info only like you can should be every Rocket fan's wish here. At least it is for me. If people think that wanting to know inside info and "begging" for a poster to come back is kissing that poster's arse, then so be it. It doesn't bother me. I can only control what I do, not what others say and think.

I'm glad to see oeilpere is posting again. Oeilpere has some of the best insider information in the entire WEB regarding the Rockets. I look forward to the posts that are encrypted, eventhough I could never solve one! Everyone has a right to their own opinion about any subject on this BBS, but also individuals should take time to fully read the post and like oeilpere said "digest the post " before replying. P.S., Oeilpere, o wise one, does your crystal ball say anything about what the Rockets are trying to do regarding the back-up center spot available and medical exemption?
