I've been wanting to try the DE safety razor shaving but can never catch the deals own them when they pop up.
DE shaving is pretty inexpensive to start. You can usually find a reasonable used DE razor like a Gillette SuperSpeed on ebay for $10-20. Or on shaving enthusiast web sites like Badger & Blade for the same or even less (folks often give away free stuff in Pay It Forward (PIFs). Blades are really affordable... you can buy a ten-pack of decent Wilkinson Swords at Walmart for $1.50 or even better, a 100-count box of Astra SP (really good blades, especially for beginning) on Amazon.com for less than $10 (that's less than 10 cents a shave!). You can get a VDH Deluxe shaving soap from Walmart for a couple of bucks, or a small tube of CO Bigelow shaving creme at Body and Bathworks for $5.00. Or a large tube of Cremo shaving creme at Walmart or Walgreens and the manufacturer will rebate you the cost back as a first time customer. A bottle of Old Spice or Aqua Velva aftershave or Nivea Sensitive After Shave Balm and a styptic pencil and you are set for a year. Watch a few videos on wet shaving and you will be amazed how much you enjoy shaving.
Have you tried the one wipe charlies from dollar shave club? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3FOae1V1-Xg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
