I think when you factor in that A)Grizzlies are notorious for treating their players poorly B)With alot of young players on the Grizzlies, there probably won't be alot of chances for alot of playing time or to be the future face of the franchise. C) Memphis is not a big market or city.

I understand them not wanting to go to the Griz, but come on, this is their chance to get to the NBA, something many people would kill for this oppurtunity!

I don't think poor management is any kind of justification for not wanting to play for Memphis. In the pantheon of poorly-run NBA franchises, Memphis is merely average. I've never heard of anyone refusing to work out for the Knicks. Clippers management sucks too. Nor would I be too pleased to be stuck with the management of Golden State, Milwaukee (though they've been lucky recently), Charlotte, Washington, Indiana, or Minnesota. So why single out Memphis when the league is littered with GMs that put together perenially bad teams?

So, sure at least with the Clips and the Knicks, and even the Warriors and maybe the Wizards, you can enjoy the city while your team sucks. But then I'd still expect prospects to refuse workouts with Charlotte, Minn, Indy and Milwaukee at least. If it were me, I'd probably add Philly, Atlanta, Chicago, New Jersey, Sacramento, and probably a couple of others to the inept list.

Ok.... and the rest of the players? Did YOU read the article?

Hayward refused to work out for them.
George, the player you're referring to, cited a mysterious groin injury to get out of it. Though the concern about playing time is funny, considering they're about to possibly lose Rudy Gay. That should open up a pretty significant hole at the SF spot, no?

Elliot Williams is apparently giving them the runaround.

Eric Bledsoe hasn't commited to a work out.

And at the very end of the article:
