Except his 3 point shot isn't close to as good as Pat's. If he can shoot like Pat did for us then he will be a tremendous player here.
Ppl said the same thing about this guy, and he was one of the most beloved players in Rockets history:
And I'm sure PJ Tucker will be very popular with fans here as well. If he can shoot like Beverly that will be awesome. If he can't, he'll still be a good contributor. Not sure what's being argued?
Pat's had the benefit of playing with the best SG creator ever in James Harden. I will bet you $40 towards the tip jar, Bev's 3pt % drops next year and Pj's goes up.
Why would I want to bet against my own team? That may very well happen. I'm being cast as being against him and I'm not. I'm pretty sure I said something like "good signing, good player, good value" when we signed him. He's a good defender with a decent 3 point shot and an otherwise limited offensive game. He's a great fit as a bench player here. What are you disagreeing with?
I think PJ Tucker will be great here. But Bev wasn't always loved. Their was a time Bev wasn't respected here & ppl wanted him gone (see the "Beverley is garbage" thread) even though he constantly outplayed the guy in front of him
Apologies if I came off sounding snotty instead of frustrated. I just hate when people on this board compare two players favorably when one is a proven commodity who has been a steady NBA rotation contributor and the other is someone who has barely proven capable of making a roster. It's even worse when some miniscule amount of potential from a D-leagure gets people more excited than steady, consistent play by an established NBA guy.
Fair. I just like to keep in mind that in the NBA it really comes down to opportunity more than talent for most of the role players. Some guys just happen to stick for one reason or another. I really love Tucker's fit on this team, but I get frustrated when people act like he's a freaking HOF'er. I like Troy Williams. He could turn into a solid role player too.
