aren't the grizzlies going for a young freshlegs team? Lots of running up and down the court? How does Mutombo fit into that equation

It wasn't a bad back so much as a weak back, whis is what he's been working on this summer.

But yes, he missed a large portion of last season, but in the games hep layed he was swallowing rebounds.... I think 7+ rebounds in around 20 minutes... That's around 13 rebounds in 38 minutes, which is tremendous.

In all honesty, why would Mutombo come to such a young team with no chance of winning the championship?

I'm honestly not trying to diss Memphis or promote Houston or anything like that.... But we're a veteran team, veteran players, our coach has been to the Finals (don't know if Hubie has), we've won the championship, we have a big time post player and a superstar on the perimeter...

I don't think a young, running team is what Mutombo is looking for... He can't really run n gun, he can't score much, so unless you guys just want an expiring contract, I don't understand why Mutombo would play for you guys.. Unless there's something I'm missing and he actually said that he wouldn't mind....

Falk wants Mutombo in Houston, probably because Patrick Ewing is there, the McGrady deal, and the fact that he'll most definitely get big minutes here in Houston. Also, no state taxes.

Swift would have to go for Curry IMO, and Wells, too meaning Curry and ERob? Two more players added?

If there is a deal here (somewhere) then Pax is right to wait on Mutombo to Houston (or somewhere) to get the extra piece to pass along or fill in on his roster.
