Obama is not nearly as good at rallying America as George W Bush was. W was awesome after 9/11. Ground Zero + bullhorn was the kind of thing you'll never forget.

    Obama has been unimpressive.

    texxx is right.

obama needs a bullhorn and 3000 dead people.

then he'll be a real leader.

It's too bad you didn't or can't seem to comprehend what the President was saying this evening.

WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS, THE PRESIDENT?

Given what little I already know of you, I'm glad for that.

    Come on dude.

I am a pretty right winged guy, and up until tonight Obama hadn't done much (in my opinion) to win me over. But he straight up kicked ass in the speech tonight. Anyone who can watch that speech and walk away with negative things to say has an agenda at hand that is keeping them from making rational observations.

I only turned on the tv because I wanted to watch Modern Family, and I (a Republican) found myself soaking in every word. Great speech.

Maybe he should be more like W... open up a portal to bizarro world and start a war!

    Would that impress you?

    Glenn Beck?

You are easily the most ignorant person on this board.

Man, as someone who's an independent and who has voted Republican in the past (and will gladly do so again providing the right candidate is there), you make Republicans look bad. Seriously, ......please stop. You're making BigTexxxxxxxxxx look like George McGovern. Embarrassing.

And then I read this and think, maybe I was wrong about Basso.

Maybe if they would have given me somebody better than John Freakin' McCain, I would have voted Republican as I've done in the past. Your party screwed up big time- that's no one's fault but theirs. With what Obama's had to deal with, he's done a good job except for the focus on the unemployment issue- although, just like with Reagan, we will need to see how it is by the end of 2011 in order to provide a clear and fair analysis (Reagan's 10.8% in 11/82 did not go down to an acceptable level until almost 12 months later, so Obama deserves the same length of time for a fair comparison).

"Obama has been unimpressive"- that statement from BigTexxxxx is the ultimate Captain Obvious statement. Really? You're (upset at, disappointed with, unimpressed with, forlorn about, angry at, shocked with - go ahead, choose any verb/preposition combo that fits your whim that day) President Obama???? Not since The Crying Game have I been so....shocked.

you know, i had a post all typed up, but i'm heeding our president's gracious words last night. bigtexxx and basso may not want to live up to the ideals of our nations' children, but i do.

i think they're in the minority this morning. based off a lot of facebook posts by friends of mine that have been nothing but critical of obama, i'm hopeful.

I agree. We'll move on, and if they choose to stay behind, so be it.

Pee Wee Herman could have rallied America after 9/11.

I thought Obama's speech was spot on. I think the crowd was a bit awkward though.

I also had a reply all set to argue with bigtexxx and basso, but then I read Groorgux's post and realized the wisdom of his words. We're better than these petty arguments. It's time we start showing it.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

    Repped, Groogrux. And thanks.
