These particular lyrics touched me. Very moving. I've always felt in my heart that that's some real conversation for your ass.

    b****es ain't **** but hoes and tricks
Lick on deez nutz and suck the dick
    Get's the **** out after you're done
And I hops in my ride to make a quick run
I used to know a b**** named Eric Wright
We used to roll around and **** the hoes at night
Tight than a muthar****a with the gangsta beats
And we was ballin' on the mutha****in' Compton streets
Peep, the **** got deep and it was on
Number 1 song after number 1 song
Long as my mutha****in' pockets was fat
    I didn't give a **** where the b**** was at
But she was hangin' with a white b**** doin' the **** she do
Suckin' on his dick just to get a buck or 2
And the few ends she got didn't mean nothin'
Now she's suing cuz the **** she be doin' ain't ****
b**** can't hang with the streets, she found herself short
So now she's takin' me to court
It's real conversation for your ass

Damn, I thought I was the only one that liked that song! One of Ice Cube's best...

At night I jerk and jerk
    But my d*ck don't work
    It don't even hurt!

...and of course, the Weird Al masterpiece...

"(This Song's Just) Six Words Long"

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

    Couldn't think of any lyrics
No I never wrote the lyrics
So I'll just sing any old lyrics
    That come to mind, child

    You really need words
    Whole lotta rhyming words
You gotta rhyme so many words, mm-mm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it
To do it, to do it right, child

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

I know that you're probably sore
'Cause I didn't write any more
I just didn't get to complete it
So that's why I gotta repeat it

This song is just six words long (six words long)
This song is just six words long (six words long)

Oh I make a lotta money
They pay me a ton of money
They're payin' me plenty of money
    To sing this song, child

    I gotta fill time
    Three minutes worth of time
Oh, how will I fill so much time, mm-mm
    I'll throw in a solo, a solo, a solo
    A solo, a solo here

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

This song's got nothin' to say
    But I'm recording it anyway
I know if I put my mind to it
I know I could find a good rhyme here

    Oh, you gotta have-a music
    You need really catchy music
This song has got plenty of music
    But just six words, child

And so I'll sing' em over
And over and over and over
And over and over and over, mm-mm
And over and over and over
And over and over and over again

Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long

This song is just six words long
    It's just six words long

Lyrics are one of my favorite things... hard to pick a few favorites, but I'll try. Some of these may have appeared in my sig in the past... some have special significance in my life.

"I don't want to run and hide, I've seen it all from either side. Truth and fiction must collide someday." - Midnight Oil

"Step out the front door like a ghost into the fog where no one notices the contrast, white on white. And in between the moon and you the angels get a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." - Counting Crows

"The lights go down, it's dark. The jungle is your head can't rule your heart." - U2

"This lightning storm, this tidal wave, this avalanche, I'm not afraid." - REM

"Where the distant oceans sing and rise to the plain, in this dry and troubled country, your beauty remains. Down through the mountain roads where the highway runs to dark, 'neath Allah's blessed rain, we remain worlds apart." - Bruce Springsteen

"Well I guess you left me with some feathers in my hand. Did it make it any easier to leave me where I stand?" - Counting Crows

"In my head there is a mirror. When I've been bad, I've been wrong. Food for the saints who are quick to judge me. Hope for a bad man, this is the badman's song." - Tears For Fears

"And I have no compass, and I have no map. And I have no reasons, no reasons to get back." - U2

In the clearing stands a boxer
and a fighter by his trade
    And he carries the reminder
of every glove that laid him down
    or cut him
    til he cried out
in his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
    But, the fighter still remains

So the Maples formed a union
    and demanded equal rights
"The Oaks are just too greedy
we will make them give us light"
Now there's no more Oak oppression
for they passed a noble law
and the trees are all kept equal
    by hatchet, ax and saw

    She held a bass guitar
and she was playin' in a band
She stood just like Bill Wyman
now I am her biggest fan

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
    I know you'll be a star
    in somebody else's sky
    why can't it be mine?

Last part of coma by Guns N' Roses:

    ______________

Ya live your life like it's a coma
So won't you tell me why we'd wanna
With all the reasons you give it's
    It's kinda hard to believe
But who am I to tell you that I've seen
any reason why you should stay
Maybe we'd be better off without you anyway

You got a one way ticket
    On your last chance ride
    Got a one way ticket
    To your suicide
    Got a one way ticket
And there's no way out alive
    And all this crass communication
That has left you in the cold
    Isn't much for consolation
When you feel so weak and old
But if home is where the heart is
Then there's stories to be told
No you don't need a doctor
No one else can heal your soul

    Got your mind in submission
Got your life on the line
    But nobody pulled the trigger
    They just stepped aside
They be down by the water
While you watch 'em waving goodbye
They be callin' in the morning
They be hangin' on the phone
They be waiting for an answer
    When you know nobody's home
And when the bell's stopped ringing
It was nobody's fault but your own
    There were always ample warnings
    There were always subtle signs
And you would have seen it comin'
But we gave you too much time
And when you said that no one's listening
Why'd your best friend drop a dime
Sometimes we get so tired of waiting
For a way to spend our time
And "It's so easy" to be social
"It's so easy" to be cool
Yeah it's easy to be hungry
When you ain't got **** to lose
And I wish that I could help you
With what you hope to find
But I'm still out here waiting
    Watching reruns of my life
When you reach the point of breaking
Know it's gonna take some time
    To heal the broken memories
    That another man would need
    Just to survive

The thing I love about this lyric, is that Ice Cube is talking about hard life, and all that, but then he keeps his own stats at a playground basketball game with his friends, and brags about a tripple double he made during the playground basketball. That is hilarious. I love it.

And we were gone... Hanging out with your dwarfman - David Bowie

I drive a Rolls Royce, cause it's good for my voice - T REX

He came like a hero from the factory floor
With the sun and moon as gifts
But the only son you ever saw
Were the two he left you with
-Big Country (I love the homophone play on words with Sun and Son, as well as the working class image of factory workers etc. throughout that whole song.)

    Who saw the fences falling
    Who broke the ploughman's bread
    Who heard the winter calling
    Who wore the tailor's thread
    How many sheaves were counted
    How did the carriage shine
    How many thoughts were doubted
    How did the landlord dine
Just as you sow you shall reap
    Who led the mayday feasting
    Who saw the harvest home
    Who left the future wasting
    Who watched the families go
See where the bowls are empty
    See where the arms reach
    See where the butter melted
    See where the altars creak
Where were the days of promise
    Where were the gifts divine
    Where were the heroes honest
    Where was the summer wine
Watch how the waves must shatter
    Watch how the shore divides
Watch how the nets will tatter
    Watch Canute and his bride

    - Big Country ( I like the salt of the earth folks appreciation over the ruling class in these lyrics)

    DWARFISH TRUMPET BLUES

I saw a little man who had a toy trumpet
He sat on a stone with his lips to the mouthpiece
He was deaf dumb and blind so he couldn't quite make it
When out of the horn came a solid silver genie
Who was made just to make the little man happy
As the man made sounds the genie painted fluid,
    Mind-blowing visions on the little man's brain-box

Everybody small with no lips to play the trumpet
Everybody living inside a giant deaf aid
Everybody's eyes crucified to the tapestry
Woven by the giant with the solid silver genie
Who plays the trumpet - T REX

Those are incredibly original and not standard fare for a rock song.

    I'll post more later.

My 7th grade English teacher did a whole unit on Rush lyrics. She's the one who got me into them.

    Still Remains
    Stone Temple Pilots

Our bed we live, our bed we sleep
Making love and I become you
Flesh is warm with naked feet
Stabbing thorns and you become me
Oh, I'd beg for you, you know I'll beg for you
She holds my hand we share a laugh
    Sipping orange blossom breezes
Love is still and sweat remains
    A cherished gift unselfish feeling...
Oh, I'd beg for you, you know I'll beg for you
She tells me things, I listen well
Drink the wine and save the water
Skin is smooth, I steal a glance
    Dragon flies "er" gliding over..
Oh, I'd beg for you, you know I'll beg for you

Pick a song and sing a yellow nectarine
Take a bath, I'll drink the water that you leave
If you should die before me
Ask if you can/could bring a friend
Pick a flower, hold your breath
    And drift away...

If you're in your 30's these lyrics may have some meaning:

    "Summer's going fast
    Night growing colder.
    Children growing up
    Old friends growing older.

    Experience Slips Away..."

    Brilliant Mistake - Elvis Costello

He thought he was the King of America
Where they pour Coca Cola just like vintage wine
Now I try hard not to become hysterical
But I'm not sure if I am laughing or crying
I wish that I could push a button
And talk in the past and not the present tense
And watch this hurtin' feeling disappear
    Like it was common sense
It was a fine idea at the time
    Now it's a brilliant mistake

She said that she was working for the ABC News
It was as much of the alphabet as she knew how to use

    Her perfume was unspeakable
    It lingered in the air
    Like her artificial laughter
    Her mementos of affairs
"Oh" I said "I see you know him"
"Isn't that very fortunate for you"
And she showed me his calling card
He came third or fourth and there were more than one or two
He was a fine idea at the time
    Now he's a brilliant mistake

Poor Fractured Atlas - Elvis Costello

He's out in the woods with his squirrel gun
To try to recapture his anger
He's screaming some words at the top of his lungs
Until he begins to feel younger
But back at his desk in the city we find
    Our trembling punch-drunken fighter
Who can't find the strength now to punish the length
Of the ribbon in his little typewriter

    Poor Fractured Atlas
    Threw himself across the mattress
    Waving his withering pencil
As if it were a pirate's cutlass
I'm almost certain he's trying to increase his burden
    He said "That's how the child in me planned it;
    A woman wouldn't understand it"

I believe there was something that I wanted to say
    Before I conclude this epistle
But you would forgive me for holding my tongue
'Cause man made the blade and the pistol
Yes man made the waterfall over the dam
To temper his tantrum with magic
Now you can't be sure of that tent of azure
Since he punched a hole in the fabric

    Chorus

    A woman wouldn't understand it
    A woman wouldn't understand it

Tamp the Dirt Down - Elvis Costello

I saw a newspaper picture from the political campaign
A woman was kissing a child, who was obviously in pain
She spills with compassion, as that young child's
face in her hands she grips
Can you imagine all that greed and avarice
coming down on that child's lips

Well I hope I don't die too soon
I pray the Lord my soul to save
Oh I'll be a good boy, I'm trying so hard to behave
Because there's one thing I know, I'd like to live
    long enough to savour
That's when they finally put you in the ground
I'll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down

When England was the w**** of the world
    Margaret was her madam
And the future looked as bright and as clear as
    the black tarmacadam
Well I hope that she sleeps well at night, isn't
    haunted by every tiny detail
'Cos when she held that lovely face in her hands
all she thought of was betrayal

( A nice little ode to Reagan's friend Margaret Thatcher.)

    Uh-huh,
    Life's like this
    Uh-huh, uh-huh
    That's the way it is
    'Cause life's like this
    Uh-huh, uh-huh
    That's the way it is

    Chill out,
    What you yellin' for?
Lay back, it's all been done before
And if you could only let it be
    You will see

I like you the way you are
When we're, driving in my car
    And you're talking to me
    One on one
    But you become

    Somebody else
    'Round everyone else
    Watchin' your back
    Like you can't relax
    You're tryin' to be cool
    You look like a fool
    To me

    Tell me

Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?
    I see the way you're
Acting like you're somebody else gets me frustrated
    Life's like this, you
And you fall and you crawl
And you break and you take
What you get and you turn it into
Honesty Promise me I'm never gonna find you fake it

    No, no, no

    You come over unannounced
Dressed up like you're something else
    Where you are and
    Where you sat, you see
    You're making me
    Laugh out
    When you strike a pose
Take off all your preppy clothes
    You know
    You're not fooling anyone
    When you become

    Somebody else
    'Round everyone else
    Watchin' your back
    Like you can't relax
    Tryin' to be cool
    You look like a fool

    Okay, actual serious choice here:

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight
You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.
And after a while, you can work on points for style
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake
A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older
And in the end you'll pack up, fly down south
Hide your head in the sand
    Just another sad old man
All alone and dying of cancer.
And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest that you've sown
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around
So have a good drown, as you go down, alone
    Dragged down by the stone.
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?
Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friend
And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everythings done under the sun
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.
Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with collar and chain
Who was given a pat on the back
Who was breaking away from the pack
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
Who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone.

    Nice!

Where'd you go to intermediate school (and how long before the administrators put a stop to such subversive methods)?

ima, are you the one that plays (played?) drums for the Texans Pep band?

Bleyl Jr High in the Cy Fair ISD. Her name was Ms. Zamora and she was a hottie. Which reminds me...

I've got it baaaaaaad sooooooo bad
    I'm hot for teacher

Anyway, I didn't play the drum (set) for the Texans band. I did sub for a bass drummer for the J-Ville game. However, we got kicked out for hoarding beers and hiding them in a Tuba.

    "Nimrod's Son"
One night upon my motorcycle through the desert spead
And smashed my body so that all my friends thought I was dead
My sister held me close and whispered to my bleeding head
"You are the son of a mother f***er"

    One two three four

I shook all night and held her hand
Chocolate people well I'll be damned
Land of plenty, land of fun
To find out I'm Nimrod's son

    Oh bury me
    Far away please
    Bury me

    Ha-haaa
The joke has come upon me

In my motorcycle mirror I think about the life I've led
And how my soul's been aking all the holes where I have bled
My image spoke to me, yes to me and often said
"You are the son of incestuous union"

    One two three

    Now my head is clear
    My luke hands washed
    My daughter's pure
    My son is tall
Land of plenty, land of fun
To find out I'm Nimrod's son

    Oh bury me
    Far away please
    Bury me

    Ha-ha Ha-ha
The joke has come upon me

    "Bone Machine"

This is a song for Carol
    Your into Japanese fastfood
And I drop you off with your Japanese lover
And you're going to the beach all day
You're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me
You're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me

    You're looking like
    You've got some sun
    Your blistered lips
    Have got a kiss
The days are lit like everyone
    Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh

Your bones got a little machine
    You're the bone machine

    I was talking to preachy-preach about kissy-kiss
    He bought me a soda
    He bought me a soda
He bought me a soda and he tried to molest me in the parking lot
    Yep, yep yep YEP!

    I make you break
    You make me hard
    Your Irish skin *
    Looks Mexican
Our love is rice and beans and horses lard
Your bones got a little machine
    You're the bone machine

    Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh [3x]
    Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh

    "Gouge Away"
    gouge away
    you can gouge away
    stay all day
    if you want to

    missy aggravation
    some sacred questions
    you stroke my locks
    some mar1juana
    if you got some

    gouge away
    you can gouge away
    stay all day
    if you want to

    sleeping on your belly
    you break my arms
    you spoon my eyes
    been rubbing a bad charm
    with holy fingers

    gouge away
    you can gouge away
    stay all day
    if you want to

    chained to the pillars
    a 3-day party
    i break the walls
    and kill us all
    with holy fingers

    gouge away
    you can gouge away
    stay all day
    if you want to
( A rock song about the biblical story of Samson is a great idea.)
