at the right price given the lack of flexibility the Rockets have getting Melo could be one of the only moves they can make getting that level of talent. That being said how much can he reconcile with MDA? Seems like the Rockets were already after him last season and looks like MDA did put it behind him but did Melo? I know CP3 can go a long way in helping with that relationship get better. There is an open starting spot for Melo here, Ariza's old spot. Moving him back to SF in the western conference may be better for him, but his defense is downright terrible which is what worries me the most. During his exit interview with OKC the one telling thing was there was no offense scheme and there was nothing done to help put him in positions to succeed. That wouldn't be the case here with Houston. One can only hope after the year in OKC he would be open to getting his shots but in a lessor role. That all being said if it came down to either signing Luc or Melo - I would want Luc. It would be great to have the luxury to have both though.
If he comes here on vet min that will be great and he can start in place of ariza but can he play defense like ariza?
I feel like we should extend an offer just to keep him from signing with Golden State. He has played some of his best ball in D'antoni's system.
Anderson knows on a pick, youre supposed to show on the side that's getting picked. Melo on the other hand is completely lost and doesn't know what to do. Atleast Anderson has fundamental iq. that counts for alot
Melo for lots of money wouldn't be any good... BUT NOW... Melo for small money?? He would be a much greater contributor than 28 MM Ryan Anderson.
thats true but we need more defense to stop GSW. but i guess our coaching staff can teach him how to defend
For sure. I think the offense will be fine. It’s the defense that elevated our status this past year. Chris Paul helped a lot. But the ability to switch everything was why we had so many blow outs. I was comparing the defensive potential. Melo is not as bad as Ryno, but it’s still a minus overall
For real... Anderson quit on us. I was at games and watched him pass on so many open shots during garbage time. That was the time for him to find his stroke and get back into it. Unbelievable how he doesn't get flamed for it... but he's a nice guy so that's that...
Lol after all the complaining about Role and not coming off the bench, I wonder IF he'll b**** out and sign with GS to come off the bench hahaha.
Agreed that he's not willing to ring chase in the sense that he's not willing to go be a role player on a title team. He thinks he's a star still.
