Hardly a surprise, but I agree that he's not worth a maximum contract. Players who excel in only one facet of the game don't deserve that much money.

If he really means it, then he needs to show us he is TRUE team leader.

We all know Melo can score.

hope he’s willing to take a pay cut to go to a contender, LA won’t get a ring soon and bulls don’t have the room right now. He can come here & get one if he’s willing to take $15-16

Lip service? This is from 3:02 today

    Fansided:

The New York Knicks have said they will not trade Carmelo Anthony during the NBA’s upcoming trade deadline.

That’s a good thing considering the small forward said today that he wants to retire as a member of the New York Knicks.

The potential free agent to be was speaking during the NBA All-Star game media session and told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports that he doesn’t want to go anywhere.

Melo says he still wants to retire a Knick and his first priority is to stay.

Why can't Melo win it alone? Why does he want to leave NY to win a championship? Jordan didn't leave the Bulls. Bird didn't leave the Celtics. Why can't Melo do it alone?

Because the mentality has changed. When everyone is grouping up with their star homies, you need to fight fire and fire. Only r****ds bring a knife to a gunfight.

Mavs...oh man... that scares me suddenly. Rick will have him playing right.

Melo next to Dirk is the stuff of nightmares, but they better find a true defensive anchor...like Tyson Chandler

I think it's perfectly fine to leave a crappy organization like NY or Cleveland regardless of who your teammates may or may not be.

tons of carmelo hate. I will wait to see how he does with a more reasonable cast to pass judgement. How awful would it be to have to play with JR Smith, Bagnani, and Felton every night. Nobody has any sympathy for that fact?

Melo in Dallas might work. They'd have to get rid of Ellis and get a pass first PG. As well as a good defensive center.

Extremely underrated at this point. I feel bad for him. It's not his fault that the Knicks are the way they are.

He balls out every single game, and he is the only guy on the Knicks that does that. 8.6 rebounds a game this year, and he has become an elite 3 point shooter...

He'd be a great 6th man for this organization.

The Pacers should trade PG for Melo.

Melo would make the Pacers unbeatable.
