Hmmm, good point YoYo, I just see him as a knucklehead as well.

Not having George Karl hurt them really bad, that team is filled with egos and George knew how to control that team.

I was with you 100% until the last sentence when you called out Kenyon. Kenyon is not the problem. His contract is asinine, but I don't blame him for that. All I know is that every time he has an injury that would knock most players out for months, he's back in weeks. No one works harder on the team. He's a phenomenal defender and was the key to our defense being so good last season and the first half of this year.

Nene, JR, Bird, hell even Billups at this point -- they all deserve to be called out. KMart doesn't.

Be more specific, Hakeem did that too.

I agree with you on Kmart's toughness I just think he is a punk ass and shoots way too many long jumpers for my taste...i dont know the nuggets as well as you of course i just view him as a knucklehead he probably wouldnt be as much given a locker room of other vets and not other knucklheads.

So is everyone besides Billups on that team is a knucklehead?

He does need more help tho, they need to step their game up and perform at the level they can. Losing Karl is what killed it for them honestly, with him they were a great team that played down to the level of their opponent in the regular season.

Without him, they 3-1 against a depleted Jazz team.

Switch Kobe with Melo, and Melo would've won the championship last season. I'm serious. Melo's game is tailor-made for the triangle offense.

i don't know about the rest of the team, but Afflalo and Lawson don't fit that description.

I see a team with limited offensive options and have said that all year. Melo and Smith when he's on are good scorers and chauncey is chauncey. Affalo is good for opportunistic points as is martin and to a certain degree nene. Last year, they had 1 more gun. This team is typical karl though. This is team, just like seattle is always a couple plays away from running teams out the gym or a couple of plays from imploding.

It's one thing to be an NBA veteran with a Championship ring and single out a player or two who you feel are not bringing it every night. It's an entirely different thing to be a young player who has never sniffed a ring and basically say your entire team sucks and you "need some help."

Not sure what to say about Kobe. The Lakers went and gave him an All Star team so I'm not sure how he couldn't win a ring with that squad.

The tatoo industry's stock just dropped 8 points when Melo made that statement. I dont really want anything to do with Melo after this year anyways. Too many NBA miles on his body and will ask for too big of a contract for too long.

Oh, the long jumpers...wow. Yeah. Those have to stop. Honestly, the way I view it is that if we let him take one or two of those every quarter, it's tolerable because of everything else he brings. Any more than that and it gets dangerous.

in any argument, you have to compare apples to apples.

one guy led a team to two championships, another guy has quit many teams.

Exactly, that's why I said be more specific.

T-Mac is knee-mac because he hasn't brought us a championship, not because he quit of the team.

    Glad you can read.

Carmelo aint Knee-Mac, at least Carmelo got past the 1st round.

I can see Carmelo being a number 1 option on a Championship team. He just needs to polish on his team defense because his one on one defense has actually been improved.

The Nuggets need a big man down low that can defend bigger guys like Bynum and Gasol. K-Mart and Nene aint gonna cut it. They should go after someone like Haywood in the off-season and let go of JR Swish.

Is the OP trying to insinuate that McGrady would actually improve the Nuggets, and that Anthony would want him on the team?

Linas Kleiza has been killing it with the Olympiacos. He won the Euroleague award for most points all season before the final four.

I'm not saying he would have made the Nuggets a better team but he is doing very well in Europe.

1-2 per quarter still is way too much for me considering his skill in finishing inside. I think that bothers me the most, he probably wont be the all-star he was in NJ but he has been in the league long enough to know his strengths and weaknesses. Every time I see him shoot one of those jumpers when he isnt forced to I just cringe.

Teams give him that jumper for a reason. I would like to see him post up more when Nene isnt in the game he is much better with his floaters and hooks.

But back to the original topic about Melo wanting help...

Nugs4 you think the team may try to make any drastic changes in the offseason to this team? You cant say its all because the coach left for them (if they lose) to be bounced in the first round against a depleted Jazz team. I am not sure if a minor tweak will help like the Afflalo over Jones move (note: this was a brilliant move by the Nugs though said it then, will say it now)

I would probably look for J.R. Smith to be traded, but the question is for me as an outsider looking in: Are the Nugs brass high or low on the guy and what value would he fetch on the market?

Melo is a free agent in 2011 still I believe unless I missed an extension, lockout or no lockout, Melo should explore his options if the Nuggets do not try to help his situation around him this offseason.

Bill Simmons said awhile ago that we should trade JR Smith for Battier. Man am I glad Morey didn't listen to the Sports Guy!

I personally don't see a market for a guy like Smith. He is a one dimensional player whose defense should have been improved by now.

If he were a free agent, I bet you no team, unless someone like New York or Minnesota, would even offer him a contract.
