Ditto. The loads of unnecessary cussing and naked men (seriously wtf?) turned me off. The movie still had some hilarious scenes and overall was decent but it was overrated, at least in MY opinion. I might watch the sequel just for those couple of scenes that make it all worth it.
Mel Gibson out, Liam Neeson in for 'Hangover 2' Mel Gibson in "The Hangover 2"? Not anymore, says director Todd Phillips. Though the troubled 54-year-old actor had been confirmed to do a cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist in the follow-up to the 2009 hit comedy, he has now been cut from the film. “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team," Phillips told CNN in a statement. "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.” Phillips didn't specify who wasn't on board with Gibson joining the cast, but some are speculating that it might have been actor Zach Galifianakis, who alluded to problems on the set during a podcast earlier this month, reports New York magazine's Vulture. "I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to [listen] ... I'm not making any leeway," he said. "I'll tell you about it later. It's very frustrating." Update, 5:30 p.m.: It looks like Liam Neeson may be taking Mel Gibson's spot. The actor's rep tells CNN that reports of Neeson joining the "Hangover 2" cast as a tattoo artist are true "pending clearance of cast and crew background check."
Ditto. I have a real problem with this newbie calling Mel out. Everyone deserves a second chance, and obviously Mel was trying to come back in a self-depracating role.

I think guys liked the storyline of the ultimate road trip/bachelor party in Vegas. I don't think there should be a sequel.
First movie wasn't that great. Only thing going for it are the animated gifs/youtube clips of the scene with the asian guy.
Yes, sure he's racist, sexist, violent and crazy, and has been given multiple second chances, but heaven forbid some doesn't want to work with that type of person.... Mel Gibson is a jackass douchebag. In any way defending him is dumb.
Tyson has worked for years on his anger management and hasn't been raping since then. It's 2010 and Mel is still beating up on women and making death threats. Maybe when he gives that crap up, he can be in the next hangover.
I think there was a difference in how long since the offensive actions took place. With Mel, they have been very recent, and seem to be ongoing. Tyson's were in the past. It's not that he hasn't been acting odd since then, but not really abusive, racist and all that other stuff Mel has become known for.
fair enough. personally, i think due to the current situation w/ mel it would have been hilarious to have him in the movie - tyson was great in the first one and if they are going to do another cameo they had to kick it up a notch and mel certainly would have done that - liam nieson is a letdown as he doesnt have the kind of baggage that the other two do. i listened to those phone calls - mel is clearly a drunk or a psycho or both - there are times when he is raging so hard that he cant even breathe. but i still think rape is worse than anti-semitism, frothing at the mouth screaming and hitting women (allegedly). mel is rich enough that he could buy the production company and the studio that is making the movie and put himself back in. if galifinakis gets upset mel can fire his ass and bring in john c. reilly. and apocalypto still kicks ass!
The first movie was in fact great Typical, a movie becomes popular and it instantly is labeled as overrated
That may be true - or seemingly is - but doesn't change the fact that there's nothing wrong with not wanting to work with Mel Gibson.
i didnt say there is. but i do find it odd that the same people who worked w/ convicted rapist mike tyson did not want to work w/ anti-semite mel gibson. the whole point of having gibson was the shock value - just like it was w/ tyson. both of those dudes are psychos. i think it would have been hilarious - especially if mel was willing to play along, which he surely was or he wouldnt have agreed to the movie. if he had busted out a 'what are you lookin' at sugartits' it would have been the highlight of the movie. if they truly wanted to make the best, most outrageous movie possible they would have welcomed gibson - the fact that they pussed out tells me they are not committed to making a proper sequel. i bet he really wanted this role - tom cruise took a pr hit and did tropic thunder and was great and well received. tyson did the first hangover and was great and well received. this was something that could have helped regain some support and get his foot back in the industry door.
