Media contrivance without the talent, depth or personal charisma to develop a marketable or entertaining screen persona, and probably lacks the professional curiousity to take on any quality projects and grow as an actress. Unlike an Evan Rachel Wood, can't even really market her own sexuality beyond the US Weekly photoshoots. The male equivalent was Pitt 17 years ago, but he was either more willing, or as a male, just more able, to play a lot of dark/crazy supporting characters and get inflated critical praise. Then he married the two most popular actresses in the world, and the Oceans films came along and proved he could make money by simply smiling and reading cue cards. I actually think an Ethan Hawke, Brendan Fraser or even Antonio Banderas could have achieved the same iconic status if they had better publicists or agents back in the day.
The good thing is Kutcher seems to have enough humility and good sense to laugh it off and focus on producing. I'm trying to figure out if it would have been better for Chappelle to have never had is show and kept that half-blemish off his legacy, but then I think of some the great comedians who never get that kind of opportunity and languish in semi-obscurity.
No. That looks nothing like any pics of Ms. Fox. I like 'em skinny, but ewwww. Not like that. Girl has HUGE feet, too!
Perhaps she's just not his type and he likes chicks with blonde hair or red heads???? Amazing how when one person says a chick is not that hot TO HIM then folks start bringing out the "Would not hit/sharp knees" pic and start saying other similar stuff. I can't stand Megan Fox. I think she is overrated both looks wise and acting ability(wise). She's not my type and I have a laundry list of chicks I would pick over her if given the chance and yes if she wanted to sit on my face, I'd prolly pass and call another chick to give her the aforementioned ride. JLoveHewitt, Scarlett Jo, Alison Brie, Bria Myles, Kelly Brook, etc < Megan Fox.
I don't think that's an apt comparison at all. Pitt had quite a few box office success prior to Ocean films and you can put Pitt in a movie and view him as the draw fairly early in his career. People will see a Brad Pitt movie and give cred to it just because it's Brad Pitt. Megan Fox on the other hand is someone who's on everyone's "it" list but doesn't seem to have that draw power. I would compare her to a poor man's Ben Affleck if comparing her to a male actor. That said, even Ben have a couple movies where I would say he helped to move tickets (goodwill hunting, armageddon, sum of all fears and heck Dare Devil didn't do too bad and I think the he helped with that).
"Media contrivance" is a good way to describe it. So DERIVATIVE it stinks. Describing the same thing but in a different way - Seems she knew the angle she needed to take, she knew the synthetic approach would probably work, but she still went in over her head. She's somewhere between a decent Rose McGowan type fill-in and just being Brian Austin Green's chick From reading all the Transformers production crew's accounts of her on the set, they were disappointed in what they saw up close and wanted her to meet the expectations of "it girl", but she's just is too flat a person. I think for Brad Pitt, I think (perhaps inappropriately) they pretty much made his path as next "Robert Redford", then it was just on Pitt to be professional enough to give a good effort and not go all Mickey Rourke/Christian Slater crazy
You're comparing Pitt to Brendan Fraser? I'm not a big Pitt fan, and haven't seen all of his movies, but come on. Interview with vampire, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, Snatch.. and that's out of the ones I've seen that came out b4 Ocean's 11. Can't see Brendan Fraser having the same impact even if he got the same opportunities.
I actually agree. Brad Pitt is hardly a good actor, but is considered one of the best now for some reason
How many examples can you give me of him being a good actor? for every 1 decent role he has played, I can give you 5 terrible ones.
