And yet he managed to win a title without Darko. I'm not high on Brown but all this overrated talk about him in comparison to the next Avery Johnson is really dull and lacking. It didnt work this year obviously, but Avery is more of a players coach and seems to get the most out of his players. Elie strikes me as the same type of coach who will command respect from his players but not micro-manage and be inflexible about things.
Actually...you are the bonehead....NBA contracts are guaranteed, unlike some other sports (like the NFL) and thus cannot be renegotiated downward. Even if the player wanted to...it wouldn't be allowed by the collective bargaining agreement or the NBAPA. Please name one contract that was renegotiated to free cap space...since 1994. Try google....
