i don't think anyone took offense to it. you are the only one who said people were offended. you like to take a very self righteous stance on things and like to believe that you already know how people feel about things. this is very evident in the things you post. you only post stuff that only justifies your feelings that everyone is racist. i don't think i have seen you post one positive thing. maybe you don't see anything positive in the world. who knows? either way it detracts from anything you are trying to show to anyone. you are a monolithic slate of negativity. maybe you aren't but your very selective replies make it seem as if you only look to respond to things that justify the points you are trying to make about other people having problems that need to be addressed while ignoring anything that may debunk your point. not sure if that is worded very well but i hope it gets my point across.

you like to post anything inflammatory and see how people react. if you are saying that you aren't trying to get a reaction out of people then you are lying to yourself...especially after your epic WWII thread which you quietly left after being intellectually outclassed. if they do anything other than agree with you then you act as if they are racist and have a problem (as noted by the bolded and underlined question you posed in your quote). if they confront you and ask you to explain your opinions with some sort of historical evidence then you insult them and act like a child. quit being so closed minded. you are on the level of the people you are trying to fight against when you use these tactics. try using your brain and try to defend your views first before you resort to insults then maybe you would get a little more respect because you do post some interesting stuff like this thread.

 

Because this board is 95% liberal, a conflicting opinion is perceived as a troll. Nice. I have been presenting the other side of the argument in recent days, WITHOUT any insults. Take note. What have I received in return? Nothing but personal attacks.

And when the 5% of those who chose to act like children post, they stick out like sore thumbs and are admonished and scolded the way they should be.

 

If you guys don't want a debate and attack any non-liberal policy position as a troll, then why don't we just name this the "Liberal Kumbaya Forum" and be done with it? I'll chip in some of my proceeds from my big oil profits to fund a VW microbus, which can serve as your headquarters and living quarters.

 

T_J, The problem in my experience seems to be that when you post and someone legitimately refutes the statements you make, you disappear. When you post it seems to be for the sole purpose of antagonizing people. So seriously, what's the point of even answering you anymore?

tj might take note of weslinder. Here we have an extremely conservative poster, who I don't think has ever been accused of being a troll. This is because weslinder engages in substantive debate and others respond in kind.

 

Because of the sheer quantity of responses, I simply can't respond to them all. That's a function of the liberal/conservative composition of the board. So yeah, I don't respond to everything, nor will I. Your excuse is invalid.

 

Maybe you misunderstood what I meant by disappear. Not responding to general posts you happen to disagree with is one thing. I am talking about when you post something (usually calling someone out) and another poster responds to YOU directly disproving what you stated was the unequivacal truth. Usually you take it a step further and not only ignore the conversation with that individual, but completely abandon the thread altogether and simply start another one. That isn't an insult, it is simply a fact.

As has been shown in several polls in the past, this board is not anywhere near "95% liberal," and, though you have stopped insulting posters directly, I would like to point out that saying that blacks are "racist" for voting for Obama sans any evidence whatsoever is insulting. Perhaps if you stopped your trollike posting and posted on the substance, people would take you seriously. Until then, we will continue to see you as a troll.

 

Again, it is not about conservative posts, it is about trollike posting. MadMax is plenty conservative, makes thoughtful and intelligent posts devoid of flaming, baiting, or behavior that you exhibit in nearly every post. In fact, the list of conservative posters who post intelligent, substance based arguments is fairly long, but unfortunately does not include you, your twin, or basso.

Stop posting like a troll and you will not get accused of it anymore. Simple as that.

I would say it was more divided last election when Kerry defeated Dean. Because that was a serious division on issues of old vs new and centrist vs liberal.
