In unrelated news: Sportsbooks in Las Vegas took a massive financial hit tonight, as three anonymous men in striped shirts placed sizable wagers on the Seattle Supersonics at approximately 2:30 CST. The men could not be reached for further comment, only stating that they were "running late for their flight to Texas."
Words are that life time free starbucks coffee were offerred to them at an undisclosed location eariler of the day.
Dan Crawford is a pretty good ref. Kevin Fehr did an absolute terrible job last night, he called the foul on Deke's clean block. What pissed me off the most is that he was the furthest ref, the 2 closest officials didn't blow the whistle, but his dumb a$$ made the freak'n call 30ft away.
Is there displinary action against ref? I mean are there any evaluation done against them after games? What's funny is that all the outcry from Rockets fans but not a peep from the coaches or front office as to what they plan to do about this...
I think there is a rule against Coaches calling out refs in the post game conf. At this point, all we can do is rant. Sac Kings were screwed up royally before the break. Now it's our turn. I guess it's the harsh reality of any sports.
Because there is nothing they can do. And even though there were terrible calls, if they are right, and they do complain, they will be fined and nothing good will come out of it, and nothing will change. Take Mobley when he went after the ref to complain for that clear non-call on goaltending that outright cost the Kings the game. He was fined ten grands and no appology, NOTHING, was done or said by the refs or the NBA. They just rubbed it in We might as well move on and forget that game, it is reality.
"DAN? DAN CRAWFORD? DAN CRAWFORD SUCKS, man... once, I was going up for a dunk... I think it was during the '95 finals... and I feel nothing behind me... then as I am about to POSTERIZE some Rockets' player, I get FOULED by Robert Horry from the back, and then I says to DAN, 'Hey, Man... he fould me... you thought he blocked me?' DAN says 'He GOT ALL BALL', so I says 'ALL BALL? He DID?' Dan says 'YES, HE DID, ALL BALL, YES SIR, ALL BALL'... I think I've seen it in that DOUBLE CLUTCH video... I don't remember what happened after that... I think I got traded to the LAKERS... " SINCERELY,
the league should hire more refs.. instead of 3, have 6 for each game so they dont screw up as much. i mean, in the grand schem of things, what is the extra $100k they pay for each referee per season gonna do anyways
yeah crawford did decent..DECENT..fehr and whoever..WHATEVER the whole crew was pretty darn horrible. Remember the first two plays of the game for Rockets..I thought they were both continuation fouls..resulting in 2 free throws..
I love the Patriots, they're the only team in the universe with unselfish guys. every team sould try ot be like them. they even soap each others back! and if you dont think they're the greatest and best team in all of history, just ask them, they'll tell you themself
geez I wish everyoen would quit complaining about the refs. It was poorly officiated both ways all game. But they were relatively consistent still. I agreed with the call on Wesley. Running into a guy and bumping him out of bounds right next to the ball....tryign to stop, but shoving your butt into someone is a foul if he goes flying. The only thing I think sucked was the Yao call cause it was crap and down the stretch and his 6th...and you'd think they'd have known better. But aside from that call, I was okay with the game because I saw the Sonics get their share of muggings with no calls.
