You're the catcher...not the most important position on the field, I'm sure they can get someone to fill in..give it a rest and go get checked out.

The loosness could also be a muscle imbalance. Eversince i was eight ive had knee problems and my ankle problems during highschool compounded it. For a long time i was worried about ligament damage in my knee but after an MRI it came out to be a muscle imbalance. I started going to therapy and my therapist said i was very close to tearing the ACL but there was no damage. Get it checked out though, its probably the most limiting injury besides a back injury.

I got out there tonight, stretched it around, and it actually felt really good. Yes, I'm stupid, but I played. I actually played the best I have all year. Between the two games, I was 4 for 5 with a cycle, 3 rbis, and a walk.

The knees a little sore now, but it seems to be sore in a different way (i.e. just from squatting for a night). Maybe it's getting better, maybe no. Either way, I'll rest it this weekend and get it looked at on Monday.

    LOL!

I've had some stupid ass friends who would go play basketball at 2:00 AM in the rain while they were sick or had a sprained ankle, knee, etc. "It's the love of the game" they would tell me.

Then they would proceed to ridicule me because I wouldn't go. I felt like kicking their ass. I am not getting paid millions to play in a deserted court at night while hurt. Love of the game my ass.

Nobody is going to remember R0ckets03 as a tough SOB for playing through pain with his stupid ass friends.

Meh! Just got back from the Doctor's. It seems that my doctor thinks it to be a torn meniscus (like I previously thought). She said she had had one herself before, and she was almost positive that's what it was. I'm supposed to take Aleve twice a day and give it a few weeks or something to see if inflammation (that I didn't know was there) goes down. If so, then we're good to go, and it probably shouldn't lock up on me anymore, like it did last week. If it doesn't, and it keeps locking up, I'll more than likely have to have surgery to remove the torn piece that's flapping around down there.

I had an X-ray today to try and confirm it, and she might refer me for an MRI later.

As far as the softball thing goes, she said I wasn't doing anything wrong by playing. Apparently, as long as I can handle it, and as long as I'm not playing in the NFL or anything, I'm good to go.

I doubt I'll need surgery, so I'm good. My knee probably won't ever be any better for the rest of my life, though.

Questions for anyone that ever had a meniscal tear:

Did you have it surgically repaired?

    If so:
    Did the surgery help?
Does your knee feel better now?
How long were you out for?
How old were you when you had your surgery?
Did they repair it or remove it?
How long did you wait to have surgery after you first injured your knee?
    Any complications after surgery?
If you had a choice, would you have surgery again?
What are your reccomendations to me?

    If no:
    Did/Do you wear a brace?
If so, what kind, and how does it work?
Is your knee feeling any better?
Are you still able to exercise?
If you could, would you have the surgery?
What are your reccomendations to me?

Sorry to make this seem like a survey. I'm just looking for some answers. My doctor told me to call her back if my knee got any worse, and after the evaluation she gave me, it is definitely feeling a LOT worse. I did nothing today, but worked (stood on my feet for five hours), and my knee is absolutely killing me tonight. It's semi-locked up, tingly and just aches. I'm doing nothing but complaining lately, and I feel like a wuss. Tomorrow, I think I'll call and see if I can get a prescription for a knee brace, and if it's not feeling any better by Monday, I'll call and see what the next step is (probably visiting the orthopedic). I don't really want to have surgery, seeing as how I'm young, and that could limit my physical activities in the future, but right now, if it's gonna help my knee, I'll have to give it serious thought.

Basically, any advice you guys have got, I will be glad to hear.

    Thanks.
