That is a common myth. There is absolutely no evidence in the playoffs that three point shots suffer more than any other shot because of "increased defensive intensity". Overall, the shooting % can be completely explained by the fact that better defenses are playing, when compared to the regular season.
I cringe when i see D12 on offense on the post, he just looks awkward IMO. His post moves are just ugly, i'd rather see Alley oops to him or him block someone on D. Now James is fun to watch on offense, the way he sees the floor. The passes he makes, and those step back jumpers are just $$$$. making 3s with a hand on his face just so funnn. But when him and D12 just go into foul drawing shooting machines just makes the games drag on for to long.
Harden pulling stepbacks in people's faces, Euro stepping past defenders trying to block him from the basket, that sweet crossover - who wouldn't like that? He's like an american version of Manu Ginobili - just too crafty for most players.
Dwight has been good since he joined the Rockets, and I am glad. But don't tell me you didn't despise him during the Dwightmare time. There were threads on CF hating on him. And even after he joined the Lakers, this board was kind of split on whether to blame the drama on Kobe or Howard. You guys have short memory. Now Dwight has jumped to the Rockets. See this through the eyes of a non-Rockets fan.
That didn't have much to do with watching Howard play. That was more of there being people upset at what he did in Orlando, and Howard saying he didn't want to come to Houston. Also with people just hating the Lakers in general. That subdued around the All Star break when he came out throwing up the "H".
The media bias is obvious. People have a sour taste for the Rockets and Howard, and therefore hate watching teams they enjoy lose to them because the primary NBA defense is not foul players all of the time. If anything, people should be upset at the high amount of fouls allowed in this league. Or the rules.
I can see how we are a boring team... One thing I realize though through the JVG era especially is...watching your team win is always fun. So yeah....F them.
I don't think the Rockets are boring when at their best. The problem is that at their worst they are unwatchable. And the worst shows up a fair bit when the national spotlight is on, at least so far in the McHale era.
People rarely watched Howard when he is was in Orlando so its not surprising people dont wanna watch him now
Yet every time I turn on ESPN I see something about the Cowboys who won exactly ONE playoff game in 15 years..postseason performance has nothing to do with it.
The only highlights shown regarding james harden on ESPN and NBA Tonight were of him getting blocked and fouling out. They went on to say harden had 38 points despite commiting 8 turnovers and fouling out. Media seriously hates Harden for some reason, but why?
Well Harden getting traded out of OKC killed any hopes of a Durant vs LBJ finals rematch, so they probably hate him for that. Then you have Dwight Howard leaving LA high and dry and making the NBA's flagship team a complete and total joke, so they hate him for that. On top of that, they hate Daryl Morey for pulling off those moves, they really wanted his "Billy Beane" routine to fail. Finally, they still hate Houston for beating the Knicks in the Finals.
