    Training Camp
I'll be in Austin this coming week for training camp. I definitely would like to get some unique stuff that you would like to see there. If you have any ideas or questions to certain players you would like answered, please drop me a line (clutch@clutchcity.net) and I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, you can just kind of imagine that was the face he gave Donnie Walsh when Donnie said "Sorry, don't think I can include that 2012 1st rounder".

We aren't fit enough to contend this year, and Yao's window is closing.

We are at best a playoff team.

Better than not making the playoffs. I'll take it.

i dont get these posts...it's similar to the "we can't compete with the Laker, heat, boston" posts......

How do we know how good miami will be?
How can we even put them next to proven champs??

How do we know how we'll do? Miller, PP, hill, martin, lee, yao...that's 6 "new" guys on the team really....at least 4 are rotation players. Chuck goes back to manhandling 4s on d, instead of struggling to defend centers. Battier gets to shoot less and probably gets easier shots, not to mention he's got defensive help behind him.

We dont know jack until they actually step on the court. On paper they're a legit playoff team, how they do after that is unknown. The only think we can maybe say with certainty is they may not be able to throw around the lakers and boston, but who knows, maybe they can compete with them? Maybe they won't win a ring, but let's not act like we'd be ashamed of anything short of a trophy. There's a HUGE difference between losing in the first round and losing in a close WCF series, so let's wait and see how they start off...

Sure we can do that, but do you honestly think we are contenders?

We are easily a playoff team, that we know is for sure. Though when it comes to competing against the likes of Boston or Lakers, we have little to no chance.

Our team is a playoff team, but we need one more push to take us to that next level.

Like Martin, Budinger, Hill, Brooks, Yao, and Miller all improving / adding to what was built last season?

There's no way to definitively say this team can't contend for everything. I don't know why everyone is comfortable saying so.

I'll wait until I can make a more educated guess, like November.

I think we're improved from last year and better than anything we've had int he last 5 years. That alone is something to look forward to. There's only 1 champion at the end of the season out of 30 teams. 29 teams go home and they're not really all on the same boat. Some have rebuilding to do, with no hope, but some see improvement and continue to climb. Fans are upset now because they are shortsighted, but they'd all trade an automatic playoff exit this year for a guaranteed ring next year. Of course nothing is guaranteed, but my point is we're improving and we're close enough where a few breaks here and there, on our end or our opponent's, could have us in the finals. Utah got a break like that when GS beat dallas.

You just never know...i'm just tired of it being black and white, there's a grey area posters want to magically want to leap over and that doesnt happen very often in this league, especially as competitive as it is in our conference and overall. Even the spurs, as great as they were, couldn't put it together for consecutive years. One year they caught one of those breaks, others they didnt. Lakers may have also only won back to back because of a break as well, Perkins being out. A team doesnt always have to be miles better than everyone else to be contenders. Sometimes, they dont even have to be better on paper or during the season. We should know this, afterall, Houston beat 4 team that were "better" in '95.

This. Some folks seem to forget that we have a complete and balanced team, with great size that was missing last year. I will not underestimate the capabilities of this team, especially in the playoffs.

Too skinny. Guidos are either swoll or fat.

    EXACTLY !!!

Drives me nuts that folks have given up already before they even see what this team can do...there are major changes, and all for the better.

    Superstars win rings...

But, I agree with much of what you said.

Some players are not superstars UNTIL they win a ring, then in hindsight folks go...well he was a superstar.
