Alot of people have this feeling that things will go well into the season, then wall and cousins will drop like flies 10-20% in, you just dont know when something bad will happen. Re-nagging injury symptoms, or how players put them self back into a situation where they buckle again. But if not Your looking at a team that could be really good if healthy, but a really bad team Failing to get into the playoffs, even if Wood is instrumental to being a big time player, and Harden has a excellent season, Those 2 together could get you a 8th seed, but i think with how stack the west is, and lack of real role players and depth for Houston it will have its effect if Wall and Cousins are out. Gordon would really have to step it up like 21 ppg, if wall and cousins are out. But if you have a healthy Wall, and Cousins, yea man thats going to propel you to a 2nd seed just behind the Lakers. (yea there better than clips). Im sure Cousins hopes he can stay healthy and have a full season, and his injuries can be completely over with, but who knows with these injures. Its just like my back when i start doing the heavy lifting again, i have this pull muscle that will come back, and i cant do that heavy **** no more like i did when i was a kid.
They are doing individual workouts due to COVID-19 precautions. Harden probably has a workout scheduled for the next couple of days.
It's within your right to be excited but I think you are underestimating the heck out of the opposition in the West. With a rookie coach and new ways they need more time to gel, probably after 20-30 games I expect some sort of chemistry. The West is really tougher than the East and Wall isn't really the player he was before. I expect the Clippers, Nuggets, Blazers, Jazz, Dallas for the 2nd and 3rd seed outside of the Rockets. GSW and Suns going after the 4th, 5th seed.
Definitely rooting for Cousins, he looks thinner and his mentality on the game, his personal goals for longevity, and team intangibles are great. This is exactly what you look for with having players with championship experience on the roster, it is definitely a mindset. He also was a great influence on a young Anthony Davis, AD became a strong defensive force after playing with Cousins. I hope Wood embraces that and learns from him as much as possible. lol. The real vids are on the Rockets YouTube channel if you want to watch them. The questions can barely be heard, but the responses and video quality are a bit better : https://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialRockets/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=10
Not sure how I feel about Silas comments that he hasn't spoken to Harden yet about the Wall trade and the way he communicates is by giving space (or not communicating). I wouldve thought Silas should be straight on the phone with Harden.
