I LOVED the short campaign. Too often now, games have unbelievably long storylines that lose my interest after so many hours. I would much rather have a short, entertaining, and epic campaign than a long and drawn out one. I hated stuff like Red Dead because I ended up only finishing about half of it and quitting. the only long campaign that has kept my interest recently was AC 2 which was great throughout and also had a great ending. And not sure how you could not like the COD 4 campaign. A real advantage it has is that Captain Price is a top 3 all time bad ass in all of video games. Soap MacTavish was also pretty awesome. Not to mention the amazing ending
I don't know what games you're thinking of, but if they lose your interest, they probably suck. I haven't played Red Dead, but I wouldn't doubt it if it didn't have the most interesting storyline. More of a sandbox game, right? Rockstar games are good, but don't have the strongest of storylines. Usually just more fun to "make" your own. Spend 15-20 hours doing random stuff, complete a few missions, then move on (unless you're still having fun). All that said, I don't actually disagree too much. 8-12 hours campaigns are fine. I really enjoyed Uncharted, GoW, Resitance (well the first one), etc., which were all around that mark. I prefer a bit longer, but you're right, some games would be worse off trying to hit those lengths (IMO BioShock suffered by being too long...though mostly because I felt they had the perfect ending, but the game kept going). <6 hours is bad though. Especially when the game is not even that interesting. And Captain Price top 3 bad ass...all-time in all video games? Ahead of Kratos, Duke Nukem, Sephiroth (well...ignoring post FF7 maybe), Snake, and probably a dozen other names? Find that hard to believe. I don't know. Compared to other games (FPS or not), CoD4 just wasn't that special to me.
Everytime I log in, I pray there is an update to fix the problems with parties on PS3. I get a "transmission error" about 6 times in between EACH game and always have to rejoin hoping i'll be on the same team as my friends and also the whole having to re-invite/join after backing out of lobbies instead of automatically being put back into your party after the leader has backed out
I havent noticed it being easy...maybe Im shooting through the wrong material. But, I know that when I used Hardened, that it makes it much easier.
Yeah, playing with a party of 3 or more on the xbox and trying to get into a game is a ****ing pain in the ass. On a side note, played zombies for the first time tonight...pretty fun. Exceeded my expectations...I suck at it and dont really know what Im supposed to do, but it was a good time nonetheless.
Zombies has been the funnest part of the game for me. I usually hold down the room under the stairs and watch them two windows while the guys with the best guns watch the hallway. There is also a pretty sweet trap in that room (1000$) that sets the floor on fire when things get too rough. I've made it to round 18.
Not ashamed to say that I'm a big fan of MW2. It is probably one of my all time favorites. It had some annoying aspects mostly brought on by the community, but I always found ways to counteract the campers, mlc knifers, oma/scavenger noobtubers, and quick/no scoping snipers. I hated Black Ops the first 2 days I had it because it is very different to play although visually it remains quite similar. You have to play it to understand how different it is. I was disappointed, to say the least initially, but why pay $65 for a rehash of the same game? This one stands on its own and once I got the hang of it, I began to understand why many are saying this is one of the best if not the best COD to date. It is extremely balanced. I liked stacking killstreaks, but I understand why they removed it. The guns take more skill to use in my opinion and I think you have to use cover more in this game than in MW2 which is more realistic. I used to just run around in the open shooting anything that moved in MW2 and although I still rush, I feel that I have to be more aware of where my cover is in Black Ops. Got a clan together and last night we went on a 30 game and still counting win streak in TDM. I'm tempted not to play again until I get these guys back together to see how far we can push it to, but I doubt I'd be able to wait because I'm definitely addicted now. Black Ops is a great game. My 2 cents. PSN: HugoStiglitz77 Add me.
Black Ops to me is pretty good, alot of campers....ALOT!!! specially in the Wager One and Done matches....but what I like about it is...I ran around...killed 5 died 3 times and knifed 1....and won the match because of my point total...while the 3 campers...didnt even get in the money....lovely!!! The diff I see is when I play Black Ops, I run around and shoot first thing I see....and keep on running....with BC2 , I was wayyyy more geared to team playing...me and the 3 other guys, with the same goal.....
I gotta agree, taht so far there is a lot of camping and lagging.. But its still a fun game nonetheless.. The commando is freaking awesome!!!
I haven't played wager matches yet on PC, so I can't say anything about that, but I haven't run into many campers in TDM yet (by far my most played game type at the moment). The only other game modes I've played are Hardcore TDM, Demolition, and Hardcore Demolition. I can definitely say that there are more campers in Demolition, and especially more in the Hardcore modes. I'm at level 40 so far and I'm loving the AK-47. I'm 4 levels away from unlocking the Commando and I can't wait to use it. What are its characteristics?
<br> In all honesty, you have some ridiculous bias towards Call of Duty games and I cannot take your opinion on these things seriously. Call of Duty 4 revolutionized console FPS, and gaming in general. It is EXTREMELY special. Granted, I have bias as well, but the point of the matter is there is a reason why both MW2/Black Ops sold so many copies. CoD4 set the standard for gaming post 2007.
Did anyone else hear about some kind of rank exploit on servers? Apparently it can get you 50 levels with one kill. My friend is already max level prestige.
I think the kill counter in Call of Duty: Black Ops for Team Deathmatch is wrong. It says I have 12,000 kills (a fifth of my current MW2 kills), and my friend has 102,000... no way. Baha.
Some thoughts... First, the commando with reflex sight is the way to go with that weapon...and the G11 has been great for me. The statistics are way off on the leaderboard, but, if you check your or your friends "combat record", the statistics there are accurate. My current numbers: 2346 kills 1411 deaths 1.65 k/d Best streak: 13 (only includes kills with a gun...not overall killstreak) Ive only gotten the dogs 1 time...but damn, thats some entertaining stuff. I like to dolphin dive...looks hilarious. As far as camping in the wager matches...it happens, but the game doesnt reward that, so even if you never die, you wont win. In all the game types, you have to kill to win, so that's good. Gotta play aggressive to win that money. Ive also started using the camera spike...pretty sweet addition. I usually use a claymore as my equipment, but the camera has helped me get some nice kills. Bottomline...play with the G11...some fun stuff there. Gotta get used to the attachment, but the gun can rape.
