I played it for about an hour last night and it's a beautiful game. The maps are nice and the detail is great. I found it a little harder to kill people. I really need to learn the maps. The zombie game is fantastic. While you’re waiting, a few of you might like to hear about a sweet hidden mini-game you can look forward to unlocking: an arcade zombie shooter titled ‘Dead Ops’. To access this arcade game fire up your copy of Black Ops and be greeted by the unique menu screen. In this menu screen the player will notice that they are shackled to a chair but are able to not only move their head around but can even wiggle their arms to break free. Once the player breaks free of their bond (and nets themselves an achievement/trophy), said player is free to roam the perimeter of their prison. In a secluded corner is a computer terminal which the player can interact with. When asked for a password input “RUSALKA”, then type in “CD”, then type “DOA” and hit enter in order to be treated to a game that could exist as a standalone downloadable title. Titled Dead Ops, this top down shooter tasks the player with making their way through waves of undead enemies using a variety of weapons. The concept is simple and the experience might not be as rich as one would expect, but tack this onto a game that already offers so much and it only sweetens the pot that much more. Black Ops is finally here for all to enjoy and a big part of the game’s success will depend on the longevity of the title, not only in the multiplayer but also in the complete experience. With Dead Ops added to list of features to hold our attention it’s going to be hard to tear gamers away. How many of you gamers found the Dead Ops arcade game and have spent some time with it? Do you see yourself putting as much time into Dead Ops as the other aspects of the game?
Surprisingly low, right? 2k11 scored 95, Red Dead Redemption was in the mid-90s, and GTA IV scored a perfect 100. Rockstar's been kicking *** recently, but I am definitely surprised this game didn't tap in to the 90s.
I am too...at least gametrailers gave it a 93. Haven't played the campaign in black ops, so I'm not sure how that is...the multiplayer is solid though.
Played a little more this morning. Love the Havana map and still can't find my way around many of them. I've heard a few people b****ing about noob tubes sucking which is a good thing. The sniping is still there, but doesn't seem as bad yet. Anyone know how the movie clip feature works?
Yep. I generaly do not get games unless they are 9.0 or higher. Modern Warfare 2 got a 9.5. Ign basically said the online play is just slightly tweaked and is nothing new and the campaign is a good story, but too many explosions to the point that it is exhausting I am heading to the grocery store and will stop by Best Buy to see if they are selling it with a gift card. I will get it if they are, but otherwise I won't
I wouldn't put all the stock in ign's review....they have given the game the lowest score from at least 10 reviews that I have seen. The guy is off his rocker about the multiplayer...it feels and plays almost nothing like mw2...not to mention the entirely new experience with currency and customization. The thing that bothers me about the multiplayer is Hacker Pro perk...where if you don't like what is in your care package, you can roll the dice and get another killstreak.
Campaign mode is very entertaining -- you come to your senses in an interrogation room, strapped down to an electric chair, and it almost has a Saw-like feel because the interview is being conducted by a strange, robotic voice. You're essentially recounting all of the different battles, encounters, etc. you took part in, and it begins with the Bay of Pigs. As he goes through each event chronologically, you go back in time and perform that mission. Pretty sick. I'm only about an hr in to the story, but at one point, you're in DC and you hop in to a limo with Secretary McNamara, and you go to a high security federal facility with him. You're escorted through this facility for a good 2-2 minutes, but you just sit back and watch as you don't control anything. You go through various checkpoints, check out intel, look at paintings of past presidents, and then you're led to a final room where JFK is smoking a cigar. He sits you down and briefs you on a mission, says you're the "top guy in the business," and briefs you on an important mission, and then you're off. One of the most epic scenes in the history of video games, IMO (which isn't saying much). Played multiplayer for a about 10 min, and it was VERY similar to the last COD. Not sure I expected big changes, but it felt too much like last year's version. One cool aspect though, you can accumulate COD points (which you can use to buy weapons, maps, etc.) for playing well in multiplayer, and then play in a specific game type labeled "wager," where you can actually put your points on the line in team deathmatch, free for all, etc.

I trust IGN more than any other site. And even on the other sites, it is rated lower than MW2. And Best Buy did not have a deal for it today, so I didn't get it.
I trust ign more than any other site as well, but it's a little fishy when their review gives a lower score by such a margin. His analysis of the multiplayer has some major weak points. Also, mw2 was overhyped...that's why it got such high scores...just like how IGN gave grand theft auto 4 a big 10. It wasn't deserving of that score and mw2 was not a 9.5 either. Black Ops is better than MW2...I can say that with certainty. Is it that much better...I'm not sure yet. Once I go through an entire prestige, I'll have a better idea of exactly how it stacks up.
