Wait. Wait. That's your argument? 30 wins? You forgot to mention the 34 losses. Where I come from, 30-34 is a losing record. So once again, why is the expansion team eating dick when expectations were never high to begin with? And why does America's Team get a free pass when they've been to the playoffs once in the last 5 years and have a losing record over the same period that the Texans have been in existence? You may have won a Super Bowl in 1995, but you haven't gotten out of the first round now in 10 years. That is the very definition of mediocrity, which is terrible for a franchise that's supposedly beloved by the whole world.

Yes, but overall we have been better the three years.

Great Lanier lost the team, but the reason why Dallas why never lose the Cowboys, or Chicago would never lose the Bulls or Boston would never lose the Celtics. Someone would always step in to keep them in that city, for its culture and history. Not to mention economic opportunity.

Stop it. You're making my sides hurt, I'm laughing so hard. I'm sure the above is EXACTLY what Baltimore fans thought right before Irsay moved his team in the middle of the night to Indianapolis. Or when Modell moved the Cleveland freaking Browns to Baltimore. Or when the Rams moved to St. Louis. Or when... well, you get the point.

Hey, look! We have another Cowboys fans who thinks his sh*t don't stink. Guess what? It does. The Oilers had just as much local support as the Cowboys did, only our traitor owner and our dumbass mayor ruined it all. Don't think this scenario couldn't happen anywhere else, including in Dallas. Deal with it.

Wait. Wait. Your argument? Negated, based on this: 18-46. Thats the Texans record. Where I am from, thats called "eating dick". Eating dick has nothing to do with expectations. The true essence of eating dick is being really bad at your respective sport and the results being the proof.

The Cowboys have been mediocre since our three superbowl wins in four years. I do not argue this point. I see bigger things ahead for the Cowboys than the Texans though. We have a great defense and a lot of talent on the offensive side. The Texans have andrej, dd, and reggie bu- oh, wait.

There is no more argument here because your contention is invalid based on pure facts. 18-46.

ps you are one of the few people on this board whose posts I enjoy more often than not, but the Texans fever leaves you blind to the truth.

Frankly, I don’t really give a crap about 90% of the stuff posted in this thread. I don’t care about the Houston vs Dallas stuff (don’t really like Dallas myself, hate the Mavericks with a passion), I don't care about the arrogant fans in Dallas/Houston, I don’t care about who has had the better record or more playoff appearances in the last 4 years, I don’t care who won more championships, I don’t care about “America’s Team,” I don’t care about Jerry Jones being an ass (although I agree), I don’t care about the crackheads on the team in the past, and, surprise, I don’t really care about 19-10 either (although I admit that it is a nice thing for the Texans and their fans).

All I care about is the here and now. The Cowboys may have won 5 championships, but that isn’t going to help them any this year; they may have been embarrassed by the Texans 4 years ago, but that has no real impact on how this season goes. Frankly, I care more about whether Justin Beriault can get over his concussion and get some practice time than I do about any of that stuff. At least that might help the Cowboys win a game even though he is just a late-round draft pick from last year fighting for a spot on the roster. To be honest, I didn’t even know the Cowboys were playing the Texans this year; I was more focused on some of the offseason moves and the first week of practice than I was about the season schedule.

Even though I’m a Cowboys fan, I’ve been avoiding this thread since it has been mostly about stuff I couldn’t care less about. I realize this stuff adds to the rivalry between the teams, but I’ve never really been into rivalries, and certainly not rivalries with teams that we play once every 4 years or so.

The stuff about TO being his cancerous self and Bledsoe losing it later in the year are legitimate points which I don’t mind discussing. I didn’t want TO and I’m still extremely skeptical about the move. Obviously, he is a great talent that could help out the offense a lot. But there’s a reason he didn’t make it with the 49ers and the Eagles. I’m anticipating a TO blowup almost as much as some of you guys, although I’m obviously trying to be optimistic and I’m hoping that won’t happen (at least in year one, when TO is usually a “good boy.”).

There’s obviously some concern over Bledsoe as well, but frankly, he’s better than any QB we’ve had in years by far. If he falls off in the end of the year, that will still be better than Quincy Carter at his peak (you guys should know how much he sucked). I’m more worried about Bledsoe getting hurt (Romo and Henson aren’t ready I’m sure) due to a bad OL than I am about Bledsoe’s performance. With the offense we have (not to mention the D), he just needs to “drive the bus.” Of course, if TO, JJ, or some other major offensive weapon have problems this year, Bledsoe might have to step up, but at that point, we’d be screwed anyway. If TO can behave, if the OL performs OK, if JJ plays all 16 games (or close to it), etc., he should be able to make plays without screwing up too much (not too difficult to hand off the ball or throw to Pro Bowl players like Jason Witten or TO, especially if we only need ~20 points to win the game). Whether that means he’ll be able to lead us to the SB or even to the playoffs, I’m not sure. All I know is that we have a lot of talent on this team and a great coaching staff that should hopefully help the Cowboys reach their full potential.

Oh and before someone posts it, 19-10…I know. DrewP and I get the picture. :)

Nice of you to go down memory lane, DrewP.

Where the hell did you come up with 3 years? I have only been on the BBS for 4 years. I haven't seen you with any sig mocking me....maybe in the beginning of my BBS existence, but nothing of current.

Well, it doesn't matter to me. The sig I currently have is what matters and what will always be the significant event in Texans history.

For those that profess a love of both teams, and a bafflement at why the Texans fans are so proud of the 19-10 victory, you are missing out on one of the BEST PARTS of being a fan of one team exclusively. You're like the broadcasters that are payed to be neutral towards all the teams. Sure, exciting plays are fun, but the dizzying highs and the horrid lows won't be felt as deeply because it is tempered by your neutrality.

As it applies to this case, of course you can't understand why Texans fans are so proud of 19-10. As you said, it is just another regular season game to you. And by treating it thusly, you missed out on the best part of that victory. The kind of heated rivalry exchange exhibited in this thread is one of the best parts of being a fan of any sport. The Cowboys may wipe the floor with us this year. The Texans may surprise and make it two victories in a row. Either way, this type of thread is going to be entertaining as a result.

**** my fellow Texans fans for not mentioning 19-10.

We may eat a dick and all that, but you ate ours that day! Good thing you were used to it with since you had Troy Aikman leading the team all those years, not to mention the crackheads.

    Ba-zing.

for laughs, always add the phrase, "in bed," to the end of your fortune after removing it from the cookie.

    Hey, Drew?

What were the Cryboys eating on September 8, 2002?

Looked like a heaping plate of 19-10! The ONLY fact that matters with regards to Texans vs Cryboys.

They lost, Drew. Badly. To an expansion team. On national television. In a game that was so important to the Cryboys that Woodson felt the need to shout from the cover of SI that they "HAD" to win it. I'm constantly amazed at how much that devastating loss still bothers Cryboy fans to this day.

The funniest thing about this thread is that it's going on day 3 and page 7 of
Pope, Drewand Francis (Francis is so flustered by the Texans domination of the Cryboys he's lost the ability to type coherent sentences!) trying to convince us that it doesn't bother them when it so obviously bothers them greatly. And what's more is that, while they surely believe it's TEXANS fans they're trying to convince, it's really themselves they're trying to convince. And every post they make is just more confirmation that 19-10 is absolutely KILLING them. Four years later and they just can't take that the Cryboys just weren't good enough.

    19-10. Eat it, losers.
