The cowboys have not won a playoff game since 1996, I never realized that, sucks for them. That was a choke job. I know the Texans had below .500 season but they improved their win total by 4 games from last year. And yes 19-10 will always be better than 34-6, the cowboys lost to an expansion team in their first game ever.
The Cowboys have a playoff team, a QB for the future, 2 outstanding RBs, and a hard hitting defense. The Texans have..... Mario Williams. Thats my unbiased opinion... sorry. Although that being said, the cowboys should eat **** and die for ever ****ing with TO. He dropped more passes than he caught touchdowns. Nothing makes me happier than seeing him pout on the sidelines after another inept season by his team. I can't wait until he is no longer a menace to the NFL Society.
I'm glad Cowboys lost and they can suck for all of eternity as far as I'm concerned. But Texans fans talking trash is just hilarious. The Texans are the most pathetic organization in sports the last five years.
Is this a thread about Dallas getting the superbowl in 2010 after the new billion $ stadium is complete?
Aren't you a Raiders fan? I wouldn't get all cocky since you support one of the worst organizations in sports right now.
How am I getting cocky about anything? My opinion has nothing to do with the Raiders on this matter. Since I am not a fan of either teams, I gave a fair and unbiased opinion, which is more than basically everyone else did in this thread.
Sorry, to razz you about the Raiders, but...what's "fair" about your assessment of the Texans and the Cowboys? I trust that the Texans organization is headed in the right direction under Kubiak and Rick Smith and they certainly have more talent than Mario Williams. The foundation of their front seven on defense is pretty damn solid. That Kubiak was able to develop any kind of running game with Ron Dayne and Wali Lundy getting the bulk of the carries bodes well for the future. If Chris Taylor can hold on to the football they may have a diamond in the rough. Winning six games with David Carr at quarterback and a lead leading number of players on the IR showed me that they could find talent and keep them competing despite some setbacks. You can't say that about the Cowboys this year. They folded like a cheap dress. I'll give you their running backs, but I don't see the quarterback, or their defense as a strength anymore. Romo's been exposed here lately...keep him the pocket and he will screw up. Can he make the adjustment? Maybe, but finding "the quarterback of the future" and having said quarterback win consistently are two different things (see: Carr, David). I think a lot of the doubts about Romo are due his supporting cast. Their offensive line sucks, the coach doesn't want to be there and that hard hitting defense got torched the last third of the season. Roy Williams is one the most overrated players in the NFL. The Cowboys, with all that talent, collapsed. Maybe they will work together better next year with the distraction of Owens gone and a healthy Greg Ellis, but this was probably their Super Bowl window year with such a weak NFC. Advantage: Cowboys for now. Not indefinitely.
The Cowboys are on a steady decline, but they'll be able rebuild around certain pieces. The Texans have had nowhere to go but up for a while, and looked like they were on the rise a few seasons ago, but then Davis couldn't stay healthy and Carr reverted back to previous form. Texan fans shouldn't have anything to jeer the Cowboys about at this time... They got to the playoffs, the Texans will again be picking in the top 10 in april. That being said, yes they do have more than Mario. Dunta Robinson and DeMeco Ryans for starters. Andre Johnson and yes maybe one of those RBs will be able to crank out a decent season or two. They just haven't seemed to be able to ever hold a consistent string of good play for more than 1 game (2 on rare occasions) which leads me to believe they are far from ready.
I put that loss squarely on the coaching staff. When Romo becomes the starter, get him out of those situations... when they changed kickers would have been a perfect time to change holders... you don't want some guy falling on your starting QB as he's trying to block a kick and you don't want your starting QB to have to worry about Special Teams stuff. Romo muffed it, but Parcells blew it weeks before the snap.
Ugh...I'm still PO'd...So close...Romo is Nomo...I was at the gym tonight and I didn't think the game was that late, but it was funny the sports page had a tiny section of the loss...I am assuming they put a whole other section, but I was at the gym and didn't look for it... I hope Parcells comes back and I hope Romo bounces back..I'm sure he feels like crap and deservedly so...
