A few days ago, the McDonalds close to me was actually sold out of them. I assume that was because people actually like the thing. I thought it was terrible.
The fact that you can't get it year round really adds to the desire. It's not anything special, but it's a once a year thing, so whatever. I went to get one the other day and they were out of the buns and I didn't want to eat a mcrib sticking out of a round bun, so I went to another mcdonalds nearby and they had a deal where if you buy the mcrib meal you can get a 2nd mcrib for $1.00.
Hungover this morning. Was going to go for a #1 Big Mac meal. Saw the MCRIB offer. Changed my mind. Game over. Hangover cured!
I haven't eaten at McDonald's in the US in probably 5 years, but I ate it drunk last night and hungover this morning.
I hate food snobs, who think i care how unhealthy it is. Taste good to me, its just processed pork and BBQ sauce
pretty sure the last time i went to mcdonald's in a long time was to try the mcrib the last time it was out. (i'm white) ... i won't be eating it again
I was tricked by the McRib for what I hope was the last time, a few years ago. I think it's the fact that you get blindsided by it, when you're at mcdonalds for whatever reason, & something with pickles, onions, and a bbq themed meat product is suddenly among your options. "Well it can't be any worse than their burgers." If it were a regular menu item, we would never forget.
Buy a Banquet TV dinner Ribs and you'll have yourself a McRib, cut corn and mashed potatoes for less than a dollar.
BUMP https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/30/mcd...nationwide-for-the-first-time-since-2012.html McRib returns to McDonald’s nationwide for the first time since 2012 Starting Dec. 2, McDonald’s McRib is returning to menus nationwide for the first time since 2012. The limited-time pork sandwich is brought back every year but is notoriously hard to find. McDonald’s even released its own McRib locator app to help customers locate restaurants that sold it. The fast-food giant brought the McRib to 10,000 of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants last year in its biggest rollout since 2012. The item has been appearing on McDonald’s menus in the U.S. since 1982, helping the chain attract customers to its restaurants during the holiday season. The nationwide launch this year comes as McDonald’s U.S. sales are rebounding from the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier in October, the chain said same-store sales in its home market rose nearly 5% in its latest quarter. The popularity of the McRib could fuel even higher sales growth, although a resurgence of Covid-19 cases could hinder McDonald’s recovery. Shares of McDonald’s, which has a market value of $162 billion, have risen 6% so far this year. The stock was down nearly 2% late-morning Friday amid a broader market sell-off.
