I have never heard one person challenge his credentials as a "gamer" until he left the Astros and went back to New York. Edit: MJ went so far as to LIE on air and say that you never hear about Roger being hurt unless he pitches poorly. This is a flat out LIE as the game he pitched against the Red Sox at the end of the year last year, we knew going in he was in serious pain and if we didn't need a win he would have been put on the DL. Most Yankee fans were expecting him to get shelled. PTI did a segment where they said there was no way he could pitch well because it was common knowledge how badly he was injured.

Absolutely I agree 100%......McNamee is not to be completely trusted, but not sure why he would have given up Clemens name.....maybe he was pressed into it.... But in the conversation that Roger recorded, he alludes to telling Murphy about it, and that he was giving Roger a heads up...and Roger quickly changed the subject...... Again we agree, it is a waste of congressional tax dollars and I have said that a lot, but now that it is happening (In an election year no less) we might as well see it through, and it is interesting.... IF the DNA does not match, or it is unreadable it will go a LONG way towards believing Roger in my eyes...and I assume a lot of others as well.... But, I suspect that we will never get to find that out, no way Roger's lawyers will let him submit a DNA sample.......that would be stupid of them..... DD

Anyone can lie to the press etc.....I am just pointing out examples of where Roger was giving himself some outs..... The truth to me, will come in testimony in front of Congress, if Roger comes in and says it with that kind of veracity....to Congress under oath, he will get major points from me. Because at the end of the day, Roger is more credible in my eyes than McNamee, but the evidence.....still needs to be tested.... DD
Because I am being completely rational. I want Roger to testify UNDER oath, then I want the evidence tested to find out if one of them is lying. Why? Because it is great drama.... And lying to the press is NOT equal to lying under oath.......the 2nd is a lot more credible.... Don't forget that Roger is very press savvy...he knows how to work a room. DD

I can't go there. This is a man's life. His character is on the line and there's very little he can do to defend it but merely deny...as he's done. This isn't for my entertainment. Honestly, I think that's pretty sick.

As you can see, this will get uglier and uglier. Roger's side has done it's job by putting doubt into people's mind about the character of McNamee. You have to remember even though he may have a "dirty" past, his statements to date from the Mitchell report have been true. So Roger's team has to figure out a way to portray Mac as a vengeful, get rich quick person. Which they seem to be doing a good job with. Now, from Mac's side he probably didn't want to rat anybody out but if your faced with jail time most of us would probably start singing. Now one of the people you "ratted out" is calling you a liar, etc... so the fed's may be interested because you may have lied (ie. jail time), so you better have evidence about the people. I figure he only named people he knew he had some sort of evidence for. I hope we will hear Andy and Chucky testimony, it might help Mac or just make it more muddy.
I believe one of them is lying....I don't see any motivation for McNamee to lie, but a ton for Roger to do so. That is balanced out against the fact that Roger is a more credible character guy - but not all that much more....as he has been known to spin a yarn or two all his life... Ok that is just too much drama, his life? The dude may have extended his career and made MILLIONS of extra dollars by cheating, don't you want to know ? DD
I do think Roger is more credible as a witness, but also has more reason to lie, thus sort of nulling out the credibility factor. To me it all comes down to the evidence now and what was said before congress. Test it.....let's find out. DD

I don't want people to have to go to Congress to defend themselves against unsubstantiated allegations. This is why MLB requires a positive drug test before there's a consequence. Rumors come cheap.
