Wear a SB ring, get the benefit of the doubt.

Trot out one of the worst pass defenses in the history of the NFL, pressure should be serious to bring in someone with actual credentials.

Uhm... Kubiak has 3 SB rings. Cowher has 1.

Should have specified as head coach, but regardless, that's a fair retort. Touche.

nobody's railing on him for hiring Denver cast offs... everybody's railing on him because he's hiring Denver cast offs and doing TERRIBLY with them.

If Uncle Bob honestly believes that, he's probably wearing diapers.

That's hardly a point worth mentioning. Kubiak road the coattails to victory in Denver.

You would be as well if you were selling out every game win or lose. However, I don't see how anyone can say McNair is trying his best to win if Kubes is still here. The team is mediocore.

I don't think the final record will matter as much as how bad the losses came about. If they come out last in the division, another 1-5 record against the AFC South, I think McNair drops the hammer.

Then again, Reliant's probably sold out for the next 3 seasons, so it's possible Uncle Bob settles for respectability (aka mediocrity), loyalty and high character guys.

Cowher worst three years are just as bad as kubiak's worst three years. Cowher didn't win big one till he got big ben, and that team won a SB after he left so maybe he wasn't the main reason he won.

If we miss out on the playoffs and Kubes gets canned, who do the Texans hire? Cowher, Gruden, Harbaugh or Saban?

If we miss out on the playoffs and Kubes doesn't get canned, who do we kill? Mcnair, Smith, Kubiak or ourselves?

Don't kill anyone. Just get a few hundred friends and burn down Reliant Stadium.

This year's draft class has also been horrible. I know Tate is out, but have any of our rookies been better than nothing? Just another thing to complain about. Coaches have a good input on who we draft.

Yeah not really a single contributor in this draft class. I guess Sherrick McManis is okay for a late draft pick.

We really need another Mario, Demeco, OD type draft class next year to be a legit championship contender. CB, DT, S depth, OL depth

Kubiak won't get canned before the end of the year or even afterward because of the looming lockout next year. To me that trumps making a coaching change. So expect more of the same next year with the Texans turning in a won-loss record in the area of 6-10 to 9-7. Really now, after 5 years of this folks here should have become acclimated to his mediocrity by now. If it's OK with "clueless Bob", then that's the way it's gonna be from now on. Don't like it? There's always the Cowboys to snicker at.

I think everyone is still living off the high of the 2006 draft that they didn't realize we hadn't had a great draft since then.

Any less than Cowher did with LaBeau and Whisenhunt? Keep in mind, Whisenhunt and LeBeau have been to subsequent Super Bowls without Cowher.

And Kubiak hardly rode coattails - he was Steve Young's QB coach in SF when Young posted one of the best individual QB seasons in NFL history and won SB MVP. And he was the offensive coordinator/QB coach in Denver for their two titles. Let's not pretend he was the assistant to the strength and conditioning coach.
