They both need to be hired, this is ridiculous. Kubiak really has no place being an NFL head coach.

I don't even care if we make the playoffs, the same thing will happen next season, Kubiak has gotten lucky far too much this season, he is finally being exposed as the incompetent coach that he is

Yeah that pissed me off to no end. Hurry up offense for what? To gve Rivers more time? IF you score you'll be up by 1 so all the Chargers would have to do is get in FG range. Gary is way over his head.

I don't think that is enough
I think he gets at least one more year

    why?
    1. Hardest schedule in football
    2. The suspensions
    3. Injury
    4. good win against Indy . . i.e. flashes of greatness

And one of the worst in NFL history.

I don't think there's any doubt that we will set the record for futility against the pass. The worst pass defense ever was the '95 Falcons who gave up 283.8 yards per game in the air. The Texans are currently giving up 298.3 yards per game. If the Texans give up 270 yards per game the rest of the season, the record is theirs.

To this point in the season, the Texans have only held a QB to fewer than 270 yards twice. One was actually Peyton Manning in the 2nd game (268 yards). The other was Matt Cassell (201).

When situations like the Indy game happen, where every. Single. Fan. watching knows what Kubiak should do (run the damn ball) and it never seems to occur to him, I think it's fine to start blaming the coaching.

I wonder if he's just conservative, or if he's a complete moron.

Bob is cashing it in! He might be worried about wims, nut primarily he needs to pay off a huge ass note. he is doing that and then some.

He doesnt want to dish out for payroll! Its clear. No high priced coach or coaching staff. Its perfect situation for him.

Wait till blackouts start, he will need a better product on the field. Until then he doesnt care to make the team better, controversy over coach/players makes his product more money not less.

Atleast les alexander tires every year. not comparing NFL moeny to NBA money, but still.

    Yeah, that's really good news...

I'll bet Bob was one of those guys who was saying "everything's okay, we're 4-2!" a couple of weeks ago.

That said, I certainly don't expect Bob to start slamming his coach in the middle of a charity event. I wouldn't have much respect for him if he did.

Technically the Texans are still in it, but if they finish 8-8 or 7-9 and McNair says Kubiak is doing a fine job I'll have issues.

    So basically:

    Kubiak says "It's on me"...

McNair says "It's on the players"...

    where is the disconnect?

    This means absolutely nothing

Unless we go off and lose 4-5 in a row and crash and burn a la the Cowboys, Kubiak will finish out this season. By then there's only going to be like 3 games left anyways.

You don't fire head coaches midseason. It's a bad move for all parties. It doesn't help the team at all, is a deterrent to prospective coaches, wastes the owner's money, and obviously sucks for the coach getting fired. There's a reason why Wade Phillips lasted as long as he did. There's a reason Mike Singletary still as his job.

Saying Kubes has done a "fine job" does NOT mean he's going to be our head coach next season. I have an itching feeling that unless we somehow make the playoffs, we're interviewing for a new coach come springtime.

It's all just BS spouted for the media. It's not airing the dirty laundry in public. As fans, we're frustrated and we want somebody within the organization to echo our voice. But do we really want to become a bickering circus like Minnesota is right now?

We all want McNair to be pissed about the direction of the team. But honestly, I'd rather him take the high road of keeping those frustrations out of public view.

I don't remember exactly, but I'd be willing to say we heard similar things coming out of the Texans the year Capers got canned.

There's no way of telling what McNair's true feeling are, but if he's as upset and frustrated as the rest of us, don't expect him to come out and say it.

If it was any other team, Kubiak would have gotten the axe already. I admire McNair's patience, but there's a time where you just got to let go. If he isn't gone by next season (if they don't make the playoffs), then the Texans are more poorly run than I realized.

And enough of this "we're in a tough division BS". In the time Kubiak has been here, we're the only team in our division to not make the playoffs. Even Jacksonville was able to put an 11-5 season out of their ass. They made the playoffs in 2005 too.
