Granted Brewer had a bad game tonight and it is only ONE game but...Call me a BOF but with the way hes played this season, Brewer deserves more minutes AND on top of that deserves to stay on the court despite having a rough shooting night. Mchale sees Brewer as nothing more than a bench player...if hes having a good game he'll leave him in if not then off to the bench. 12th men like Scalabrine all get better treatment than a normal bench player and also have the green light and are encouraged to shoot the ball.

No matter how well Brewer plays Mchale will never see anything more in his game. If Brewer has a great game then Mchale simply says hes playing well, he never ever said once that he believed Lin was a good player. Once Garcia got on the team Mchale said something along the lines of "you are going places with the team" or something like that. When you favor a player over another in this case Garcia over Brewer, then all of Garcias good moments will stand out while Brewers bad moments will stand out all thatt much more. Its hard for Mchale to change his view of Brewer since his first impression was not a good one. Any future bad games from Brewer will only be reassurance for Mchale that he was right all along.

    END RANT

Two pretty typical psychological phenomena at work here: Primacy and Confirmation Bias. It happens.

I know! It is so unfair! If only McHale didn't treat Brewer like crap, we would be undefeated. It is also that Harden fellow and Parsons fellow fault as they keep stealing minutes from Brewer!

You confused Lin and Brewer. Read your own post. You used Lin's name in the second line of the second paragraph. Now we know you are trolling and trying to stirn the S***t. Get lost buddy.

This is inexcusable, McHail and Sampson are holding back Brewer's potential. He deserves to play on a team that will let his talents show like the Knicks. With Tyson Chandler there Brewer would be a top wingman.

Wait. This is not another Jeremy Lin thread. How does this belong in GARM? The GARM is only to be used for Lin threads and hateful Harden ones. Mods, close'r up.

I agree with you OP. Brewer played so well in the last 5 games avg more than 20 points a game and now he is being benched for no reason? He was our 2 best player with the most consistent scoring with 50+% FG and 40+% 3pt, not playing Brewer makes no sense. Mchale is clearly biased towards Brewer and dont want him to outshine the big 3 ( Howard, Harden, and Parson)

    Brewer does deserve more minutes.

He's one of the only lockdown perimeter defenders we have...if we're up 15 in the 4th like in Dallas, IMO, theres NO REASON not to run a lineup of, say:

    Bev
    Brewer
    James
    Parsons/Jones
    Dwight

We have enough Offense to not collapse, and we--GASP--get better defensively

Brewer fits better for the 3rd unit. The first unit has Howard. The second unit has Asik and Garcia. The 3rd unit needs a defensive stopper. Otherwise, who's going to play defense for us in garbage time? DMo? Brooks?

There's nothing personal. McHale is not a racist and he doesn't hate Brewer. It's not a knock on Brewer just because he plays for the 3rd unit. Who starts or play backup does not matter. It's all a matter of fit. Brewer will be able to do his thing with the 3rd unit, the way he wouldn't be able to do playing alongside with Howard, Asik, etc.
