Even if we wanted to see more of Lin with the TT, it probably won't happen. This team doesn't embrace the PnR, and McHale's general stubbornness to go through Harden/Bev isn't helping anything either.

Judging from what I read, I believe Rockets will continue with TT because Morey said so, possibly to showcase Asik.

More signs Rockets will drop 2-centers lineup. McHale: We're going to try something different these next couple games with the big lineup."

Looks like some changes at least.

What's there to showcase??? Any GM with a pulse should know EXACTLY who Asik is as a player. And if they are showcasing his offensive repertoire as a big that can play offensively with another big, please explain to me how this is helping his trade value?

Did McHale say TT lineup is playing awful, but sometimes in short
stretches they look good. Therefore I will keep playing them.

He is a man who never quitts, good mentality for an player but bad thinking as coach/manager

    +1 Exactly.

With so many qualified individuals here I'm not sure why the Rockets FO hasn't taken their advice.

I've always wanted them to try the big lineup early to midway through the first period with a quick substitution of Asik for D-Mo or TJ. That way, if it's not working, the coaches can pull a quick sub of Howard for Casspi to limit the damage.

On the other hand, I do see the logic in using the TT at the beginning of quarters so that the TT are in before the opposing team goes over the limit, not after. You really don't want two bad free-throw shooters to be on the floor when more free throws are to be taken.

I really don't get this. The entire league knows what Asik can do as a starter, so what does the TT experiment accomplish other than placate him?

playing two defensive centers together makes no sense at all, even on the defense end. both centers are effective on defense when they both stay close to the rim. it means what we add with TT is half court defense. as we all know, we were one of top half court defense teams last season with one defense center. we were super good at protecting the rim. how much do we gain by adding another defense center to protect the rim? adding another big won't make perimeter defense better. it won't make our transition defense good. instead it makes perimeter and transition defense even worse since we have 3 perimeter players against 4 opponent players due to our bigs' defense effectiveness (they need to stay close to the rim) and their speed.

I've seen Dwight rip at least a half dozen boards out of Omer's hands. I'm not sure if it says more about Dwight, or Omer!

I meant a substitution of D-Mo or TJ (the starter) for Asik (coming off the bench).

I think it's time to end it. Bring asik and Lin off the bench together, I don't think any team in the nba can top that. They can still play together in spurts but its time to separate them. Asik isn't in an ideal situation right now

Part of the reason the Rockets were so good at protecting the paint last year is that the Rockets "cheated" and has their perimeter players sag inside, giving up SOME of the open corner 3's and long jumpers we saw last year. (The Rockets are not the only team last year to utilize this theory, the Bulls and Heat did as well).

you mean have an actual pg in the starting lineup, so your all-nba first team sg can focus on what he does best and score the ball, and get us to a quick start? and the pg can focus on getting everyone else involved? what a novel idea!!
