Hoopshype and other sources reporting Vogel to be fired and Bird to bring in his buddy McHale in to coach the Pacers. Rockets love Vogel, so how ironic that would be if we basically swapped coaches with the Pacers.
Yup, this is ongoing in the Vogel thread. It's all rumors and conjecture at this point, so maybe not completely thread worthy? This too. Not really ironic. It would be ironic if Vogel decided to leave basketball all together, or if Bird was fired and Vogel took his spot. Heck, even me lecturing you on irony is a bit ironic, don't you think?
so you telling me we could have traded McHale for Vogel, instead of firing him and getting stuck with JBB this season...
Totally forgot about that lmao. Tho McHale was actually working on NBATV before we hired him. Oh wait a minute....
Don't tease me, Malakas. Brewer for a conditional late-2nd round pick, never to be delivered. Delivered in whiny pathetic voice of Liam Neeson's scumbag torture victim in "Taken": "PLEASE! Puh-LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!"
I'm not a big McHale fan, but the idea that all he did was clap his hands and ask the players to play harder is so absolutely stupid that it boggles my mind. I watched him coach the team up close. You guys are nuts when you think he was just some lax players coach that let people do whatever they wanted without saying anything.
Swapping Vogel for McHale is like the Mets trading Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi. If this were an actual trade, the league would block it and put the Pacers FO on probation.
I think it started out as a joke, then others started saying it as though it were real, then it just caught on and stuck.
