Rudy wasn't an X's and O's guy, he couldn't work well for younger teams but veteran teams, he was perfect due to his knowledge of the game.

I know Rudy is a legend here but I feel like the players do buy into McHale and that is the important thing right now. McHale isn't a good coach in terms of strategy but as long as the players believe in him, he has a chance to be one.

I don't have a problem with McHale's colors. His suits are decent. When he wears a tie it usually coordinates. As for his coaching that's when he shows his true colors and that's where ZI think he comes short.

Mostly I think coaching is overrated on the Rockets. All Mchale has to do is stay out of the way and follow Morey's lead. He sometimes fails at that and that's when I want to replace him. Otherwise he is good enough, maybe.

I think the OP mixed up championship coach with championship caliber coach.

The definition of championship coach is clear but the question is whether McHale is a championship caliber coach.
