:confused::confused: that's not what this thread is about at all. What are you smoking? Time to remove the word great and replace it with confused.

that's right. Everyone needs to deal with it. McHale can freaking coach DMo like no one else. I have Coach's back.

And I don't want Lin to be traded. The kid is too good at improving. He has been doing it his whole life.

    GO JEREMY LIN!!

In the end it doesn't matter what fans think of McHales coaching, coaches are judged by wins/loses and whether they are overachieving or underachieving. So all the rage about how McHale apparently doesn't want Lin to succeed or hates Lin blah blah doesn't really matter.

People in here will only think what they want to think. 10% objective, the rest already had their minds made up. Hint: look @ join date, and you can guess 9/10 times what they're already gonna say. :D

Yes, most Lin fans are not from houston or else it would be sold out every game.
Lin is not good enough but dont doubt his backers.

Maybe Lin should just swing the ball from side to side and play like 15 minutes a game. Im sure that will satisfy mcfail.

I don't give a **** if James Harden, Jeremy Lin, or anyone else scores only one point, as long as we are winning.

Why should we care? The goal of a team is to win a championship. To win a championship, you must win games no matter how many points a player scores.

It matters because it hasn't consistently won us games. There are plenty of times lately when Lin takes an ill-advised shot when someone with a better look is open.

I like Lin, a lot, but he's at his best when he defers to a pure scorer or gets other guys involved before he looks for his scoring opportunities.

In my opinion, Lin is not an efficient scorer. His shooting percentage and selection somewhat provides evidence of that.

I think we are a stronger team when he is a pass-first guard .

    GO JEREMY LIN

There, I said it. A vet '99er agrees with every new poster about Lin.

    Can I get a response?

He shot over 50% from 22 shot attempts, thats 12-22 to be exact. What's your point?

Because Nash wasn't a prototypical basketball player and excelled in a very unorthodox office.

Lin will improve, but to project him to be a Steve Nash is just ridiculous - no one knows that. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? No. And people here need to be realistic.

What's realistic - is that Lin will be a solid contributor and a rock at his position. And that's a good thing. That's what we need. A strong pg, not a superstar one.

You are wrong, sir. McHale does treat Lin like his son...an irrelevant stepson.

This is when I get sick to my stomach with the new breed of Rocket---err Lin fans.

I don't give 3 hot damns if James Anderson lights it up for 50 and James and Jeremy score 1 point on a technical freethrow.

ROCKETS fans want to win. ROCKETS fans want to win more than they want a specific player to score points.ROCKETS fans already know this. :)

There are plenty of times when Lin doesn't take the shot when he is open. Let him grow. Let the team grow. This is a year of learning. We're not getting a ring.

Nothing...I am just surprised that you do not expect much from Jeremy. I actually think it's cool.

That's exactly what I was saying. If Lin scores 50 and the Rockets win, great. If Harden scores 50 and Lin doesn't score at all and the Rockets win great. The only thing that should matter is how the team is doing.

It is not a bad thing to hold players accountable. However, consistency is key.

I've pointed out in the Clippers' game thread where McHale went off on Lin in his face for his 2nd TO at the end of the 1st half. This is despite the fact that players like Parsons, Delfino, etc had earlier chalked up 2 TOs each due to carelessness. Following that, Parsons was immediately made the primary ball handler. Parsons had 5 TOs in that game.

And that's not the first time the coaching staff had took it out on Lin at the courtside. However, I have yet to see the coaching staff went off at Harden, Delfino & Parsons even though each of them had his own share of careless high TO games. What stands out is that a number of those TOs were committed during crunch times in close games.

Such inconsistency in handling accountability is simlpy bad player management.
