LOL. I guess you were one of them. You call that garbage minutes?? Really? No need to talk to you anymore I guess.
Yes if you watched the game, you know there was no way we would have caught up by that point of time.
5 minutes in a basketball game is like an eternity. And we were only down by 10. Even the very same Rox team has made bigger comeback during this season. I'm glad our players don't have the loser mentality like you. And yes I'm chinese, not that it matters in any way, shape, or form in our conversation.
Again, it was not for that game, it was a slow paced bogged down game by the well defensed Pacers, 5 minutes was not enough to turn the game around. You can disagree but that is the fact.
You said that you are Chinese but hate Lin in the past, I am just trying to understand your mentality.
I don't think anybody has said that Lin is an All Star. I have seen a few people say he ha all star potential but I don't think anybody has said that he is playing currently at an all star level.
What the? Do we have people from Rockets organization doing damage control here? How can you even defend the 4th Q decisions in the last game?! Like seriously?! I am baffled at this forum sometimes.
i should use "ignore them".:grin::grin: if you don't feel there is anything you can discuss with them, move on. keeping responding would not help anything.
yea seriously. it was the dumbest move by a coaching staff that i have ever seen in basketball. and this is after they made a similar move a few games back benching the whole starting unit part of the 3rd and all of 4th quarter. people seem to forget about all of the boneheaded moves by these coaches in the past because they keep pushing the bounds of coaching stupidity. you gotta be a serious mchale fan boy to reach so hard and try to defend him this time. this is just too much.
I certainly can, and I find it a bit disturbing that you were asked your ethnicity, as if it matters a damn bit. Good lord. Honestly, I have a hard time understanding someone making a post like this. Who hired Kevin McHale to coach the Rockets? Who hired him? Daryl Morey. And please give me some quotes showing how disrespected Kevin McHale is as a coach around the league. I'll be waiting for those quotes. Thanks in advance.
Oy Deck sorry for disturbing you. I have never asked someone else about their ethnicity in this forum, I know it doesn't matter. However, he did volunteer and told everyone in another Lin thread that he is Chinese. I know my question sounded out of place and off topic in this thread. Maybe I should have sent him a private message instead. However it was not meant to be an hostile question, hence I put out a smiley face. I am just genuinely curious about his take on this issue. But now he says he likes(?) Lin but not his fans. I guess my question is null and void.
Well if it is bloody obvious that he is developing young guys, then why play harden and parsons for 40+ mins? with closing the forth quarter with delfino + douglas\beverly... then at the press conference, Mchale explains that he was he was just trying to win the game... So you can't criticize the head coach anymore? Actually Bev only got his minutes consistent after Douglas left... before that they were fighting for the spot... ummm.. greg smith was not getting minutes all year... he spent a lot of time in the D-League, and sometimes when cole aldrich was playing really bad, he gets playing time... only after cole was traded that he started getting consistent PT, because we needed a backup center... do you even follow the rockets? if you do you would know all this... LOL rookies like Tim Ohlbrecht, T Robinson, Terrence Jones, D Mo.... You can also consider Greg smith as he barely played last year... Patrick bev is also a rookie as this is his first season to play in the NBA regular season... its quite obvious now that you don't really follow the rockets... you don't even know their players lol the Point is, if your playoff spot is not yet secured, you do not treat the last 8 games like a preseason game... who cares if the last 8 opponents are playoff teams or not... in the NBA nothing is a guaranteed win... especially if your fighting for a playoff spot against lakers and utah and all the 8 remaining teams has already beaten us at least once... Last year, we are at the same spot... then we lost 7 of the last 9 games at the same time, lost our playoff spot... so you tell me, is it worth it to gamble any games at this point? if you really are a rocket fan, you will not allow anyone to gamble any of the remaining games...
McHale can play whoever he likes for as long as he likes, that's his prerogative as head coach. I'm a Lin fan and I don't have a problem with that. However, a coach's performance will be judged on his results and the way he conducts himself throughout the season and the GM may decide to keep McHale or fire him based on that...that's the GM's prerogative, just as it's the Rockets' owner's prerogative to fire McHale and/or Morey, if he chooses do so. I'm not saying any of this is going to happen but that's just the way things are so there's little point whining about who gets what minutes. If McHale's rotations and coaching are deemed boneheaded by Morey or the owner, then he'll have to take responsibility for that with maybe his job on the line, at the end of the season.
I specifically remember Bev getting minutes that Douglas typically got BEFORE Douglas was traded. Even games which Douglas didn't even step on the court. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201302100SAC.html (Tony Douglas didn't touch the court) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201302080HOU.html (Bev played 20 minutes compared to Douglas' 2) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201302120GSW.html (Douglas never touches the court) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201302130LAC.html (Douglas never touches the court) Yeah... no. Cole Aldrich was getting minutes at the beginning of the year, but Greg Smith took his spot early in the season as the back up center. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201212040HOU.html (Aldrich got exactly 0 minutes) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201212070SAS.html (Greg Smith gets 14 minutes compared to Cole's 8) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201212100HOU.html (16 minutes for Greg Smith, 2 for Cole) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201212120HOU.html (20 minutes for Greg Smith, 0 for Cole) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201212140HOU.html (22 minutes for Greg Smith, 0 for Cole) .... (this trend continues) I would and could carry on, but I see no point. Greg Smith has been getting constant minutes for the most part this year. Revise your previous statement with less ad hominem and with more facts, then talk. Thanks.
