yeah i know what praise means.. its like showing your admiration towards something or someone. but u made it seem like a "praise the lord" kind of way. What's wrong with showing admiration toward our BEST player?
um, go read all my posts. i have trashed tmac when he sucks and he has this yr in a few games. and it doesn't matter if you don't think tmac is the best player of the team or not. the same reasons u criticize tmac (and i don't blame u b/c he's not a winner yet so he deserves all of the blame he gets deservedly or not) can be applied to yao that's all. yao's a fallaway shooting big man, doesn't attack in crunch time, settles, is a defensive liability at times, can't rebound at a dominant fashion... tmac and yao are VERY VERY flawed as superstars. why do u think morey is spending so much effort just to surround them with the right supporting cast? tmac has been a better playoff performer than yao, but BOTH have not been able tos how they can rise to the ocassion when need be and put teams on their shoulders. like i said, if i can trade away both yao and tmac for better players (which there are), i would in a heartbeat. both are injury-proned, haven't led us anywhere, and both are very weak mentally. but we are stuck with them. so we have to believe in them no matter what. morey has surrounded them with very good players and they don't have to do everything anymore. if tmac was injured and yao's playing right now, i still believe in this team no matter what. let me repeat, i believe in the TEAM (that includes tmac, yao, scola, landry, up to the 12th man of gerald green). you're a fan when you support every and any player that puts on a rocket jersey. did i despise scottie pippen when he wasn't a rocket? hell yea, i hated the dude. but the moment he put on a rocket jeresey and rep my team, i supported and cheered for him. but you aren't a real fan are u?
i could never understand those criticisms of the "it's all on me" statement. one of the biggest faults that many people say tmac has is that he's not a leader. yet when he takes upon himself to shoulder the blame if his team fails you sweat him. he was trying to show the same leadership qualities that y'all say he doesnt have by accepting that its his team and that they'll go as far as he takes them. and by doing that he took the pressure off of his teammates. he showed he was willing to lead his team and take the blame should they fail. that's being a leader.
I don't have to love Yao if I hate Tmac. I like Scola, Landry, Luther's sometimes streaky shooting, shane battier's defense.. all that.
praise means an expression of approval and commendation. You always praise Yao and diss TMac. Nothing wrong with that statement but best player in the team is very subjective. TMac can carry this team to wins without Yao while Yao has not done the same without TMac, some would point thats why TMac is better. Some would also say you cannot be considered the best if you keep playing only 2/3rd of the season.
I believe in TEAM as well. Except Tmac. Don't consider me a fan? Okay, that's cool. Always have been a Rockets fan and always will be.
But you do hate on TMac and praise Yao all the time even in this hour of crisis for our Rockets team. Why do you feel the need to diss TMac when Yao has actually eerily similar flaws than TMac from being injury prone to passive on offense and to flopping in the playoffs (horrible against Boozer on defense and Okur on offense). I never attack Yao, I am a big fan of his along with TMac but only when I am defending TMac do I bring these points up. Just let it go and come attack TMac when and if he flops in this years playoffs. In the meantime dont get jealous because we want to believe in him and not Yao.

jealous? I'm not a Rockets player. Go believe in your Tmac, so that I can lmao when we're elimated from the playoffs. Even if we do somehow make it to the 2nd round, you're gonna say that the Rockets would've gone farther with Yao and his "similar flaws"

Second, if you are confused with the meaning of the word praise in the first place, I highly doubt you followed the Rockets before Yao joined the team... like I pointed out, true Rockets fan will probably hate both TMac and Yao for their incompetencies.
Of course we will believe in TMac and our team, thats what true Rockets fans do! You go and come back next year when Yao is back. Buzz off this thread and go post in an anti TMac thread, I am sure there are plenty in this forum.

Expression of approval, commendation, or admiration." My definition is not far off and I didn't use a dictionary. I think the word I used is even in the official definition... hmm.. ADMIRATION Haha I've watched the Rockets since I was 6! That was 10 years ago. Yeah I'm only 16 but I remember the rough seasons of the past.. that 24-58 season before yao.. or was it 28-54? i'm not sure but im not gonna look it up.. ima go with 28-54. Shouldn't you be going to bed? Don't you have to work tomorrow? I wouldn't want to disrupt an adults sleeping pattern because he has to argue with a minor. I on the other hand have to wake up at 6 mon-fri but i don't give a ....

well go bash the starters of an anti tmac thread. I'm not your scapegoat. I have NEVER started a thread bashing tmac. I post and bash. I'm not an idiot, I know how things are here at CF.net and starting threads like that are likely to get me demoted or so.
