JD-dog-homie, I get your guys' sentiment about Tmac not being able to get past the first round, but when you guys are obviously taking JOY over him failing to get past the first round, INSTEAD of offering support for him and the team, thats a different story. And have you seen some of the threads and posts I've made about the team and particularly Tmac? You would be surprise at some the responses I get, saying I complained about Tmac too much. I don't feel like I need to defend myself, but when haters like you people attack me on a personal level, I have no choice but to straighten things out for you, and show you what the difference between criticizing someone and hating someone.
Yao is a great player but im not a ***. I don't have one favorite player on the team. I do have a least favorite though
no....I was one of the people that thought Yao didn't have what it "took" to lead a team, but I thought Tmac did...........I was wrong...............I've admitted to my mistake.............its time for everyone else to do the same.
Im not saying its you Anyways I think the Roxs will be okay with Scoal + Landry combo. Deke might still have something left in the tank.
If YOUR A TRUE ROCKET FAN, U SUPPORT YOUR TEAM TO THE DEATH... EVEN IF THE PLAYERS SUCK, U ROOT FOR THEM TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP, IF YOUR PLAYERS ARE DOWN, YOU ROOT FOR THEM TO WIN IT ALL.. IF YOUR PLAYERS ARE INJURED, YOU DONT SAY, THEY "SUCK AND CANT LEAD A TEAM" AND SAY THE ROCKETS ARENT GOING NOWHERE... WHATEVER HAPPENS TO THE ROCKETS, EVEN IF THEYVE FAILED IN THE POST SEASON FOR SO LONG, I WILL ALWAYS BE OPTIMISTIC AND I WILL ALWAYS CHEER THEM ON BECAUSE THATS WHAT A TRUE FAN DOES... GO T-MAC! GO ROCKETS!! GO GET THAT 3RD TITLE!!!!!
man I was miserable after we lost last season...I went to every god damn game in between work, school, sickness, etc.....I rooted my ass off for the rockets, I sweated, ran up and down the stands in game 7 to encourage other lame ass fans to cheer, I heckled opposing teams and their fans............believe me when I tell you that I did not take "joy" in the rockets losing last year......I never take "joy" in the team I root for losing........I've supported the rockets in almost every way imaginable, but I am a fan and I do have a voice, and that voice says "I don't see this team winning anything with Yao or Tmac together".....
But why do you assume that since they are not as good as you thought, they are not good enough to win? What is the alternative to Yao and Tmac? What are the chances that the Rockets can get better players than Yao and Tmac through the draft or free agency? I don't have a problem if the Rockets trade Tmac or Yao. What assurances do you get in return?
I think Tracy's going to step up too.....in a BIG way.Remember him carrying us when yao was down.Well,I see it happening again. There will be help though now. Scola and Landry's games are going to take a quantum leap IMO.Luis will play the five and bust open his repetroire of moves while Carl Landry will be a man possessed.(and don't forget,he has much more to his game than he's shown so far) The faster style should be more condusive to guys like Brooks and Green. I see us running very well the rest of the season.Scoring shouldn't be a problem. Adelman will adjust....He's a great coach. I worry about our interior defense more than anything. And that leads us to the playoffs.....In the end it might not be enough, but these guys are going to get major seasoning. But there's always Tracy...........If he gets off and stays hot throughout the playoffs..Anything can happen. It seemed like he had just decided to start being patient and getting everyone involved. This first game back it will be interesting to watch and see if he is taking it to the rack a lot or working everyone in.Either way I have this starnge optimism. Adversity breeds character.Sometimes teams rally under these circumstances and do things noone believe them to be capable of.Rember,we have some young and very talented players. We'll see.
Did it ever come across your mind that I wouldn't have attacked you in a personal level if you would have not responded and said this.. looks like i was attacked on a personal level. You don't have to show me what criticizing and hating someone is. I'm an avid Tmac basher, I HATE the guy. LOL If he does well some nights, GREAT FOR HIM... I'm all about the Rockets winning a championship
I watch them because I'm both a rockets/b-ball fan just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I don't have a right to have an opinion on how far my team can go..... if Yao's foot results don't come back being extremely bad, I still believe you can get something for him.....and although Tmac is injury prone I still believe there are some teams out there that would be willing to take a shot at him....look I'm not expecting us to be a championship team after we trade them, but it's becoming more obvious every year that these 2 just weren't meant to win together here in Houston................fool me once shame on you, fool me 4 times............yeah u get the picture.
anyways I have to go now....I need to go type a few papers up...it will help me get my mind off of this.......
This is when Tmac is at his best. As great a distributor as he is and as much as he truly wants to defer to Yao Tmac is at his best when he is THE GUY. Look at Orlando. Look at last season. This is when he bring his A+ game and you better believe when teams starting trapping him and doubling him we now have a crew who can make them pay. I'm obviously in the minority here but I don't see us having much of a drop off in our winning percentage. This team is going to score more than before and look damn good doing it. We are not going to beat anyone in the playoffs without Yao but this team is not going to quit just because Yao is out. Meanwhile, Scola and Landry are going to get some serious minutes as even more important cogs in this machine. This is one of the saddest days I have ever had as a Rocket fan but we still have a great group of guys who play their hearts out every night. Let's be thankful for that and hope we are better for this when next season rolls around. Time to make a drink. LOL
I know i was going crazy during game 7. I almost got kicked out before the game started for talking mad mess to Utah Jazz fans, that's not cool at all but I have a Rockets passion. I don't see this team winning anything with Tmac on the team... Yao can stay if he wants, he's the centerpiece of our team and the only all star ... cuz tmac is now a FORMER all star
then dont bother watching anymore rockets games this year since this rockets team aint going to win "anything" this year... watch the games next year if you get your wish when TMAC and YAO both get traded! i bet you would love it and get a hard on to see the rockets play like the Timberwolves!
I like your attitude-in fact, I LOVE that kind of attitude I totally agree, true fans should be forgiving (Philly Eagles fans are hopeless though) and should always support their team through thick and thin. For example, I've always stuck with my OSU Cowboys through the highs and lows (then highs, so on so on), whether its in basketball or football, particularly our basketball program. We were doing horrible this season, but recently we've turned it around by beating two top 20 teams in a row. Did I think they had a chance? HELL NO. But did I cheered and rooted for them no matter what? HELL YES. AND LOOK AND BEHOLD GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? I can understand fans' frustration and some of the knee-jerk reactions, especially with a team with as much history as the Rockets, but some of them take it far too seriously and forget what it means to be a fan- AND THAT IS TO SUPPORT YOUR TEAM. Again, just look at my example of the OSU basketball program, and relate it to our situation. Even in our dire situation I never once called out the coach or any players (well, maybe a little somewhat). Yao may be out, but we still have the second in command, and a much improved team-and a better coach!
