Well, its a good thing that the missing cartilage isnt on the part that bears weight because then he would constantly be feeling the bone on bone contact. However, since it isnt in that part of the knee, then he will feel the pain during certain knee movements.

The 0.5 cm is a small amount...and players do play with this kind of condition all the time, but its just a matter of playing through the discomfort. If the lesion was more than 1 cm, then Im sure doctors would recommend surgery, but in this case, its probably the reason why some of the top docs voted against the surgery and recommended rest and rehab as the preferred treatment of choice.

I think the difference between players that are able to play through pain/discomfort and those that arent able to is a matter of mental toughness. If you play scared or favor the knee, then that definitely hinders your game and I think that is what we have seen with TMac.

I think if TMac ever gets back to his old self, he will have to rehab his mind, just as much as he will have to rehab the knee, if not more.

    Best wishes for him.
I still remember what the announcer said in the first game of playoff series in 06-07 season: "T_Mac is back". After Tracy only made 1 point in the first half, while he blew out in the 3rd quarter!

The surgery has been completed, and by all accounts it was a success. I’m looking forward to the rehab process, but will need some time to go to Mexico to try out the burritos. I also heard they serve some mean taquitos so be on the look out for some pictures of me running to the bathroom. I’d like to thank all of Clutch forum for making me feel bad, and i though of dunking on all of you as I underwent this surgery. It really means a lot to me that that you keep making threads about me. Take care Rafer cuz i sent your ass packing, and stay tuned for updates along the way.

(P.S: Ima destroy the rockets organization next year because Les is my B**** :) )

I wonder with t-mac being out and all, if he will be on Radio stations? I really want to see how he responds to all the people claiming he is done as a Rocket, i.e. 610, Calvin Murphy, 97.5. Its crazy, I am sure he is not forced to respond to any of it, but I really wonder what his view point is?

Realistically, I don't see him coming back and being the same player.

I am really comparing him to Chris Webber at this point I know their are various other players we could compare him to, but I am just seeing Chris as the worst that could happen.

So if t-mac goes through rehab, could he come back sooner if he busts his ass? It would be nice, but I really don't see Artest playing the way he is now when t-mac returns, Artest is really more of a go-to-guy, I just don't see them on the same team winning.

Too Bad, I really had high hopes for this season with T-mac getting out the first, I actually think Rockets will make it out of the first but of course it would be nice to see him get out.
