Microfracture surgery, despite of its seriousness, is actually a rather painless outpatient procedure.
Lets not get overly dramatic here. This is a short, quick procedure...it is minimally invasive...it is only .5 cm of cartilage loss. The surgery wont be what could end TMac's career...its TMac's ability to play through pain that would effectively end his career. This surgery isnt a risk...it wont do harm...its just a method to try and recover lost cartilage. A cartilage lesion of over 2 cm is usually seen as being difficult to repair, but TMac's is no where near that much loss...not to mention that its on a safe part of the knee that does not bear any weight. This surgery is getting way blown out of proportion...apparently the term "microfracture" freaks every one out. There are varying degrees of difficulty for this procedure with varying outcomes of success...however, if you are going to have to have microfracture surgery, you really cant think of a much better scenario than what TMac has going for him. This isnt a career ender unless TMac has a mental block that he cant overcome.
You guys are too hard on Tmac. You have to also keep in mind that he lost so many loved ones and relatives. Give the guy a break. Tmac wish you get healthy and ready for next season!
i made a little adjustment to the letter that t-mac send that i think is the real version of that enjoy
That's not all too uncommon. I personally don't write the words that are posted on this site. My assistant comes up with the ideas, then sends it to her assistant who types it up then sends the finished copy to my assistant who approves the message. Then....She sends it to me and all I have to do is hit reply.
Wasn't this what he said last season after his surger? Oh well, get well soon Tmac. Come back next year and let's get our fourth ring
Thanks for the clarification on this, I don't pretend to know any of the specifics of the procedure and admit to the word "microfracture" being scary when you think of the likes of Stoudemire and McDyess and KMart and how it sidetracked them for some time. As far the overdramatic(ness) it is in due part to all of the naysayers and people who just cannot seem to put this season's version of Tmac behind them or at least put into perspective in regards to what Tmac has done in the past for the Rockets. I have grown weary regarding all the Tracy McGrady hate -- and I cannot think of another word for it. As if he took our #1 pick some offseason and spent it on drafting Darco or the like. I still have hopes that he will come back next year near as good as he was before if for no other reason than to shut some of the posters around here up. But that is my over optimism speaking.
Interesting point. I suppose his previous knee surgery was also announced as a success. To be fair though, they were probably successul in completing what they set out to do in both surgeries. What happens once Tmac leaves the operating table is basically up to him.
I can't believe nobody is outraged that he's writing a blog and thinking about spending time with family before he even rehabbed! This is ridiculous! What a loser! How dare he think about taking time to spend with the family. You don't get $20 Million to spend time with the family! T-Slacker needs to get his mind straight. He should have been rehabbing on the way back home. But no, McLazyass wants to write blogs and be with his kids. Give me a break. What kind of man spends time with his family as opposed to rehab? This loser has some nerve........
