I think it benefits his ego to play the style he is comfortable in....and JVG was fired for buying into that style IMO, you can not have one guy dominate the ball and win in the playoffs.....especially with zone defenses being allowed. I don't think TMac is a cat trapper, but I also don't think he is a superstar player. I think he has superstar talent but his lack of mental toughness and his feeble body will never allow him to reach that status. And, I think he has burned too many bridges to stay in Houston.....at some point some of us say ....enough......your leash is obviously longer than mine. DD
Uhm.... .....that's what I meant, daywalker02. The Celtics ended the 22-game win streak on the 23rd game. That (the Lakers game) was the last game the Rockets won (hence the end of the streak)....but I can see how I could have led some people the wrong way... I stand corrected......
I think what happen the last offseason after Tmac had his first knee surgery, he didn't really work out hard at all. He was just resting his knee and his shoulder the entire offseason. He didnt get in shape for training camp nor preseason. Tmac thought that he was good enough to just go out there during the season and play his rust off and his way back into shape but it all backfires against him. If he would work hard to get back into game shape before training camp starts, he would be fine during last season and he wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
Guess what. I did mention it but IMHO he was laid back because he thought Ron was helping out. That backfired.
That is a sign of complacency, laziness, a loser..... When you get better players you work HARDER to take advantage of it, you don't coast, that mentality is one of the reasons I want him traded. DD
Well, dude, you must forget what he has done in 07-08 playoff. I say you're biased. Sure, last season, he make a lot of people unhappy. But, overall, since he becoma a Rockets, he did a good job. I do not think it's wise to downplay one just because his ugly performance in one season.
Do you not realize how long a season is? Sure, you can overlook one or two games, but this guy alienated teammates and fans for an entire season.
I do not watch all of Rockets games last season, but mostly. Yes, a season is long. And four seasons is four times as long as one. Trade him or not, we have to rely on Mcgrady in the upcoming season.
Rely on him? For what? In your opinion, what's our best case scenario? Losing in the first round of the playoffs? Second?
If the Rockts want to trade him, it's wise to maximize his value and trade him. Hopefully, his good performance will make him a better leverage. Right? If not, IMHO, fans will be glad to see a few more wins if he plays good. I don't see we are able to reach playoff next season. We are no championship contender. What I hope is that we could get a lottery pick.
So you hope we get a good lottery pick yet you also hope we get more wins if he plays good. Do you realize you're hoping for two events that contradict each other?
