So what is my theory? Did I say Tmac must retire a Rocket? I have drawn up a scenario which is very unlikely to happen but it can happen. I stated Tmac could-it is not a sure thing- potentially attract good players, this time under the surveillance of Morey, who could really help us, I was not thinking of the StroShow or Pippen but young players with hustle and IQ. Why should I be condemned because I show some hope and compassion to Tracy?
Yao and Tmac aren't the Dynamic Duo. Joker:"haha, Robin, you can't stop me!" Robin:"you are wrong, here comes Batman!" Joker:"but Batman had to get knee surgery" Robin:"Holy Penny Hardaway! what are we gonna do now?" I think you are looking at the end of this era. They had their chances, you have to say how many more years of Tmac/Yao and praying that they are healthy in the playoffs do you want? Other teams are rebuilding, we are following the same path with all the youth.
you said 'big name'. My bad, I thought 'big name' people were people who demanded big money. can you give me an example of these young 'big name' players with hustle and IQ that Tmac would attract?
LOL - I don't hate the guy, just think he is a loser and his contract is holding this team back. I don't think he is nearly as good as some people think he is....just because he scores etc, does not make him a good teamate or a winner. Let him take his whiny, quitting behavior to another team. If Morey keeps him I am down with it, but I don't have to personally like the guys game or his attitude....because I don't. Calling it hate means you have no argument, and it is just an easy way to whine. DD
Ok. I am glad you agree with DD. When I agree to disagree with him, I won't take anything personal. I laugh it off. We'll enjoy our lively debate. I know perfectly well what standpoint many respected posters do represent. Respect. That is the word. Out of respect I would give everybody a second chance. Why not Tmac too?
I agree with respect, but how can you give Tracy respect when he dosen't even respect his teammates or organization?
I agree with you, but for me personally, imo, Tmac has had his share of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th....too many chances. His entire career has been more about scoring than winning, he quit in Orlando, he quit in Houston, I am sure he will quit at his next stop too. Personally, I have seen enough.....his character flat out sucks....and again, IMO, it will eventually lead to failure. DD
Names. What's in names? Seriously if you go back, you will find that I said star players. I was imprecise. Nowadays we don't need Tmac that bad to recruit players like in the old days of JVG. We have Morey and Adelman who's got a good reputation among players himself. By saying Tmac could attract star players I meant he's got a big name among other players and young players mold their after him, he could very well help with recruitment. As opposed to many posters here he's got a good reputation in the league. The players seem to like him. He could help bring in a Bosh and Johnson or what other names are out there. AND I did not say big name players at all. In our days a Mehmet Okur is a star player, in Utah and Turkey a super star.

Perhaps I am more forgettable but my counting starts every time a new trainer arrives in town. I could care less for what he did in Orlando. I mean the great Kobe Bryant once demanded a trade with his favorite coach on board. Facts would say there are many things for him to prove under Adelman. Everybody makes mistakes. And he is turning 30, that alone is a good reason to roll with him. As for failure, I don't know. It is good that the team is not all that dependent on him but still need his court vision down the stretch.
I don't doubt his talent, it is his willingness to play Adelman's style consistently, and to play his role, whatever it is as defined by the coach. DD
Ok. Deal. Then let's wait and see. It's a business and I won't be surprised that he's on the leave at least.
Thx alot tinman. At least I won't flip flop on this one. What good things he does in Florida stays there.
Hey, nothing wrong with a little flip flopping now and again, a real man can admit when he is wrong..... DD
So, can you respect him as a human being and have little to no respect for the way he plays the game? DD
I see. ...So.... ....the times when McGrady has been supportive of a coach (JVG, the same coach who benched him for his "quitting", and said that he was one of the best players he'd coached)..... ....the times where he has complemented and praised teammates (his interview after the Lakers beat the Rockets to end that streak of theirs last year comes to mind, where he played a dog game statistically, but some other Rockets came through)..... .....when Richard Justice (a tool, but an honest tool) asked McGrady during the Utah series in 2008 why he didn't just go Kobe in that series, take every shot he could get, so people wouldn't call him a loser and a quitter..... ...and McGrady's reply was to ask ..."How does that help us win?..." ....all those cases (and a few more, besides) don't mean anything other than McGrady is a self-serving louse who'd stand on his grandmother's head if it made him look taller than everybody else? Really? He's so insecure about himself that he'd continue to beat his head against a wall, not because he can't find a better way to break through it.... .....but because he wants people to help him bandage it up? Around here? where probably 3 people out of 5 would split McGrady's skull themselves...? You, know, DD.... .....I like to think I'm a fairly smart guy (and to be honest, I don't see conspiracies all that well).... ...but you're going to have to explain to me again how this scheme of McGrady's (about 5 years in the making now) was supposed to benefit him....
