    Hmmmmmm.......

....why is this synapsis of events so difficult for some of us to digest as, if not completely true, than at least more realistic than anything else floated about these parts as the gospel according to Tracy McGrady?

I accept that there would always be those who would not seem to think McGrady is capable of being a decent human being, let alone a good basketball player...as well as being more than a few who would not see McGrady as anything other than an unfortunate victim of circumstance....

....but what I can't get is this hypothesis that McGrady is solely after whatever he can get for himself, at the expense of everybody else?

Has he really whined and griped and underachieved THAT much?

Even in relation to HIS mouth and ego?

Yes he has, he has thrown his teamates under the bus, he has tossed his coach under the bus, he screwed the organization at the trade deadline last year......all of that is not as bad imo as him quitting in games as a Houston Rocket.

He quit in the GS game under JVG and was benched for it, and he quit in the Toronto game last year....that to me, is inexcusable and shows more about the man's lack of competitive fire than anything and it is why I want him traded.....

He can not lead...yet he gets paid to......IMO, he has to go for the organization to move forward, he is an anchor.

You are acting like a wife who was betrayed by her hubby. INEXCUSABLE you say.... Then I ask you why did you say whatever the organization decides you would conform?
Funny that his wife has forgiven him and you still sound like a resented one who never stops hold the Toronto game against him. Yes he did something wrong, he was weak and he wanted to rest his knees instead of standing on the court.
One thing I can't understand why are bringing this up again and again when you know he might be gone by trade deadline?

I am a fan of the Rockets, I will follow them regardless, doesn't mean I have to respect players like Tmac to cheer for the team.

Maybe I hope that him watching an undermanned team get further in the playoffs by playing team ball will have changed his attitude and he comes back and gets with the program, but his history suggests otherwise.

I am answering a question posed as to what harm he has done, to me, the guy is a cancer, a loser, someone who quits and then blames his teamates.

I do hope he is gone, the team will be better off, IMHO....and so will Tmac, he needs a fresh start...again.

t-mac did us a favor last year. we were about to trade him till he one-upped the rockets and said he would get microfracture. now we can hold onto his contract or get even better value for him assuming he's an "improved" t-mac.

    Fair enough.

Tracy alone can attract other star players come to Houston IMO. That alone is an asset worth having. Whatever. Time will tell which direction the organization will be heading.

    Look dude,
Wesley Snipes can attract Jessica Biel for Blade Trinity, doesn't make it a good movie.

We tried this bunch of big name players before, it was called Scottie Pippen.

Look at the Spurs, Ginobli, Parker, Bowen, those were just smart management to build a team around Duncan. They turned out well.

Seems like you want him gone. I was hoping for you guys that after the news that confirmed he was building up muscles the wrong way you would give him a second chance. I mean he played like roughly 60 games for Adelman and most of them he was injured. Excuses or not but guys who would give Wafer a chance, are bailing on him.

Please stop making excuses for Tracy. It's obvious you love Tracy and DD loves the Rockets.

Ok, let's me agree with your idea that "tracy will attract big names".

Tracy makes 20 million next year. Yao makes a ton also. We have something called a cap.

Ok, tell me what "big name" will come and how they would take a massive pay cut to join us?

Also, you think we are winning a championship next year with Tmac?

When you like Tracy, does that mean automatically you are against the Rockets these days.... :(

the facts are that Tracy's salary and Yao's salary combined, no way were attracting "big names"

    daywalker's theory is incorrect.

the only way we can attract 'big names' is if one of them leaves or gets traded so we can free up some space to sign a 'big name'.

My bad. I was thinking of a pay cut because those 2 guys know how frail they are. I mean it is the only chance to retain both of them and the only reason I can think of. If Tracy wants to stay and lives up to his potential, on the condition that the organization are signing him the Dynamic duo would continue to exist.
Even if the so called border line allstar does not come around, we can hope the younger players would develop.
Of course I didn't say I would put Tracy before the team. Don't get me wrong. I was just wondering why some posters behave so emotional when it comes down to him. I mean it is a natural cycle that one player has to leave a team or retire.
