In playoffs, he is going to create for himself and also, for his teammates. Look at his stats in the playoffs!

Spectacular numbers other than the fact that his percentages were bad last season and we never got out of the 1st round.

It s not his fault. It s on the other Rockets. He has done his job in each playoffs series that he has played.

Not hardly. People were coming to terms that McGrady was no longer in Kobe's zip code, but no one was calling him done or openly accusing him of half-@ssing it.

This time last year: missed 6 games, averaged 21.5 ppg, had 2 single digit games

This year: missed 8 games, averaging 16 ppg, and has 7 single-digit games. He's also been sat down by Rick and Morey over his obvious on court lethargy.

He's always coasted, but now it's as if the regular season is something getting in the way of his life. It's an insult to the fans, his teammates, and the franchise.

the problems with Tmac are both the confidence and the fact that he is decling.....without practices , one's sports career will not last long no matter how gifted he is . it will ultimately wear out....a very obvious example being YAO,,,who is not a talented player at all but who works extremely hard to keep his stats mvp-like.

    That's not a wise statement.

What? At the start of last season during preseason, T-Mac looked as light on his feet as I've seen him since the 2004-05 season. By the end of the season he didn't look quite as spry.

This season he came out of the gate looking like post-Preakness-Stakes Barbaro, and he still looks that way over 1/3 of the way into the season, like he needs to be euthanized.

Obviously he's done as a premier scorer. Due to his knee, he's probably resigned himself to being a playmaker from now until he retires.

It's cool though. We've got Rafer and Battier to pick up the scoring slack for him.

As a playmaker, he'll be able to get Rafer and Battier more looks.

I can see it now. Rafer acting as a SG, coming around picks and drilling mid-range jumpers. Battier becoming more of the slasher we always knew he could be.

Shoot, we'll be a top 10 offense in no time.

He was averaging 21 points a game but he was shooting 40 percent from the field. We were a .500 team.

The reason he's averaging 16 points per game rather than 21 is simply because he's taking less shots. Remember last season when it was Tmac and Yao were the only double digit players? Now we have 5-6 players AVERAGING double digits. And the most important thing, we're 9 games over .500.

If Tmac finishes the season at 16 points a game and 40% shooting. You can bring this back up and I'll eat crow. Go ahead and save this to your favorites or whatever you want to do. Tmac will slowly rehab his knee and then when its fine he'll play better. Not Kobe level, but not Alston level either.

True, true. Don't forget about Chuck Hayes. Now that T-Mac can focus on setting up others, including The Chuckster, I have no doubt he can increase Chuck's scoring average by 200% . That ought to put our scoring over the top, yo.

    Nobody.

He was at the top of NBA's initial Race to the MVP rankings as meaningless as that may be.

I was just making the point that he didn't start last season out poorly as one of the earlier posters suggested.

Keep dreaming would you, that fool is washed up... I can care less if he gets a triple double the next game heck after he gets the triple double he will follow up with 4 lousy points.

Same as always... how you view things depends on whether you think Rockets problem are (1) caused by injuries from which guys will recover by April, or (2) caused by some inherit sucky-ness of the players and coach.

Those in the former camp are only mild concerned. Those in the latter camp are freaking out.

Been there, argued that. End of story.

He worked on his FT shooting for sure. His FT% is up 13% from last year, ironic because he missed two tonight that might have cost us the game.

I can guarantee we will see numbers around 28-8-8 in the playoffs for sure and I fully expect him to be back REAL strong next season and go on a tear..

When Tmac doesnt do good offensivley, he has alot of assists to back it up. He creates for people. Aslong as we are winning, no one should be able to complain. 7pts 10 assists = good enough. Think about it, 10 assists = 20 points. If he woulda made the 10 shots instead of assisting, he would have had 27 points not including 3's. He is doing all he can do atm. Im not a player hater on this team but when Yao or artest have trouble shooting games, how many assists do they have? Not alot is the answer....

I'm starting to follow in the gospel of DD in that TMAC should become our starting pt guard, and we should try to get a decent SG for Alston. Not saying Alston is horrible and we have to trade him or what not, be we need a decent SG who can drive and he and/or one part scolandry are the only possible trade bait we could afford to lose and possibly survive to play into June either this year or next.
