He'll have the last laugh alright, When the Rockets fail to make the play offs!

At the moment Rockets is clinging on the 8th play off spot.

What a waste of $20 million. Every game he sits for this BS "conditioning" program costs the Rockets ~$250k. Total nonsense.

I have to say, Houston fans are much harder on their sports stars than any other city I know. Just wow. Really. How quickly things can turn.

Haha - I know more Boston, NY, and Philly fans then you probably know Houston fans.

The folks up here rag on their athletes all the time...absolutely, but they don't hate on them like they are doing to T-mac here. The rumours and speculation. Holy moly.

I think the difference is that people accept that sports stars are prima donna's here and that the drama is all part of the sport. At the end of the day - it's the playoffs that count...

Houston fans care more about how they win...like it's wrong to win ugly. Up in the northeast, people don't care...it's just the end result. Chemistry? Who cares. Fans just want to go home happy. They don't care if the star is a spoiled brat as long as they hit the key homerun, make the right pass or block, or hit the game winning shot. You should come out here and watch a game in a northeast arena Dada. Completely difference experience to watching a game in the Summit or Astrodome...and I suspect it hasn't changed much since I left Houston 18 years ago.

haha - yeah, you know what they say - it's lonely at the top.

Seriously man - have you read the vitrol that comes out of this board of late?

If it's not T-mac, it's Yao. If it's not Yao, it's Artest. If not Artest, it's Adelman or before that JVG. Or the management.

But it's always something. ALWAYS. Having been on this board for what, 6 or 7 years, I can tell you that there's always some sort of vitrol being directed at some player or member of the organization upon which the fans heap all of their frustration upon.

Just calling it as I see it buddy.

Let's see, Giambi wasn't run out of town, he signed as a free agent with oakland after hitting like .200 with the Yanks dude.

And Manny? The guy is a true psycho. He wasn't run out of Boston, they put up with him for YEARS man. But after you start taking down members of the staff in throw downs and actually faking injuries - FAKING - something T-mac hasn't done. Yeah, you get traded. BUt the drama Manny caused was labeled what for years...you know what it was called....."It's just Manny being Manny".

    They accepted it.

He hasn't been accused of that thus far except by armchair critics posing as wannabe sportswriters on discussion groups.

If you're uncomfortable fans criticizing our "soft" superstar, perhaps you should consider watching the WNBA.

Posts on a message board are nothing compared to getting heckled on your own home court/field.

Not to mention you're basing your judgment from some posters on one message board...a very specific cross section of fans.
