Finally someone told Steve to shut up about not wanting to play in Orlando. Man, the guy is making a bad name for himself and with that attitude, I dont think many top players would want to play with him.

Good start of dissappointing your teamates to be and fans in Orlando Stevie! LOL

"For the moment, all eyes were on Weisbrod, who holds two of the most important cards -- McGrady, and the No. 1 pick -- in what has evolved into a 30-team poker tournament.

Weisbrod said there were at least seven teams under consideration for a trade involving McGrady, neglecting to specify whether the Houston Rockets were still one of them.

Houston thought it had the inside track to acquire McGrady for a package of players that included Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley, but that deal was looking more and more dead with each passing hour. "

I really really really really really realy want Tracy McGrady now... after a couple of days of analyzing the tarde and our future, I'm all for this trade...

    McGrady
    Howard
    Lue
    Gaines

    for

    Francis
    Mobley
    Cato

if Fisher and Ollie are on our roster, our team would be set at the point... Boki as our back up SF...Gaines our back up SG...Taylor would start... we would need a 7 footer to give 10 -15 minutes a night...

I feel our team would be vastly improved...McGrady would have to buy into playing harder defense or becoming a floater like Garnett... This would be sick to have two future HOF's on the team so young... Please let this happen...

McGardy would dominate the west with Yao playing the post...and Yao would also benefit too...it's like a perfect combination...i would prefer Kobe Bryant over McGrady, but I'll take him regardless...

    Waiting patiently...

Fair enough, but T-Mac is a better 3-point shooter, and Magic fans even complained a little that he didn't go to the basket as much as he once did. Sounds like he was preparing for the pass out from a double-teamed Yao to me... :D ;)

I would love to see both of them get in the HOF as rockets but lets not get that far ahead, for now they are just Allstars
    IMHO

Reading your posts makes me feel good to be a Rockets fan...

Are yall as excited as I am about this??? Seriously, I'm 22 and I have been thinking about this non-stop... I have been reading yalls posts non'stop throughout the day...

The reason for me liking Kobe Bryant better is that I feel he plays harder and he is a better defensive player than Mcgrady...I feel that McGrady is a better scorer since he had to score against defenses by himself...Kobe had Shaq... But I think that with McGrady and Yao, we would have something special with the possibility of being great...

    Word!!!

Good to hear from you Drexlerfan22...

It's been a while since we have crossed eachothers paths...Don't start nothing and I won't either...You had my Boy Evol banned from here...He had to see a Dr. because of that...LOL

but it's good to see that your still alive and doing OK...

BTW... it is sad to see Francis, Mobley, and Cato leave, but I feel that change is good on this case...
    what about you Drexlerfan22???

What are your expectations for the future if this trade happens???

I would want to know your opinion since I respect it...

Ha, I've had a few heated discussions, but I do believe I actually remember that one. I believe I connected your moniker to someone... but like you said, enough of that. :D

As everyone has been saying, when you have a chance to get a top 5 player, you simply do it. Not doing so would be moronic to the umpteenth degree. Another reason I like it is because McGrady's age better conicides with Yao's.

I'll miss all those guys, but to look at it objectively: Mobley wouldn't be the best answer at point, as his offensive abilities would be somewhat redundant with McGrady's and he is much better guarding 2s than 1s. Love the guy's attitude, but it would be unfair to him and disadvantageous to us if he were to stay (unless he came off the bench... yeah, like that'll happen). I HATE Fisher with a passion, but it's almost laughable how perfectly he would fit with this new squad.

I love Cato, but if we get a Skinner or a Wright-type, to go with a more complete starting 4 (even Howard qualifies), we can't lose much.

Assuming these moves are made, I feel the next priority for the team would be to replace their aging forwards... but the beauty of it is there would be no rush. The other positions look set for years, and the forwards we got will still be good for a couple more seasons. We'll be good for a long time... though I think we'll need a near all-star forward down the line if we plan on going all the way, rather than just being another face in the crowd.

...so basically, I think we just about agree. ;)

I guess I'm not the only one who hasn't responded.

I wasn't too wild about the trade, but now I really want it. I hate losing Cuttino, one of my favorite Rockets.

In theory, the Magic could string this out for months.

I've been pretty concerned about that myself, actually. I mean, now that they're putting the trade off until after the draft, what's to stop them from doing just that?

Chad Ford should hold a press conference to give us new "inside" info.

While up on the podium he searches his person and says, I think I ummm left my "inside" info in the car.

Then all the reporters here the sound of running footsteps, car door slamming and tires peeling out.

If life was only like the Simpsons.

    :(

They could, but why would they? Knowing that a trade is inevitable, they must also know they are at a disadvantage in the FA (MLE & vet minimums) market if they don't have any idea what positions they need to fill. Not to mention, if the deal starts to morph, they could wind up with 3 PF's (Okafor, Gooden, Howard). Granted, Okafor could play C in the EC, but they'd still be tagged with Juwan's lengthy contract.

IMHO, most everyone around here is being a tad bit impatient since the actual trade can't legally take place until July 14th.

If McGrady will only sign with us, I'd start pulling pieces off the table the longer this goes on. In fact after the little stunt the O GM pulled, they might be getting Taylor instead of Mobley - and of course they'd need to kick in more players to make the deal work.

Why do all of these newspapers report Weisbrod's comments as if he is telling the truth? Stuff sent out this morning is still talking about all of the teams involved and how Pheonix with its #7 are deeply involved.

Guys, Weisbrod is lying. Stop printing that crap without some kind of qualifiers.

the Magic need an injection of excitement in order to start selling season tickets. they won't let this drag on. they have no incentive to do that.

It's called putting your story to bed too early. But, the main reason they are running Weisbrod's comments is because he is the only one talking.
